BIS and BES are having the problem too. It's because right now our service books doesn't bring us the BlackBerry Internet Browsing Service Book... working on this once again!

I was saying since there is a member here who states to have this working is it possible one of you is bis and one is bes... also here is the website for the bis

the prob is that lvl1 and lvl2 tech are not the most informed person... :P

now if i could get my hand on the directly line for RIM tech support that would help....

I have the browser and windows live messenger working and I'm a BIS Telus Client. Technically I'm in Abbotsford but it is basically Vancouver. If someone doesn't believe me I'm more than welcome to chat with them on msn and see if I can help them out.

Email rim they send you back an auto sent email with a contact number.

You can talk to the tech's for 50. Bucks. They will try and send you back to your carrier but be persistent

Is it possible that it's working in Vancouver because Telus will be doing a soft launch of HSPA in that market early next week?

Just a thought

A friend of mine is a Telus customer rep and he says Vancouver Telus is trying to get HSPA out for the Olympics so that is quite possible.

From what I heard, Sept. 15 is the beginning of the soft launch. Starting in Vancouver, then Calgary, then Toronto and Montreal.

Vancouver will be launched early to ensure the bugs are worked out by the Olympics. Telus doesn't want to lose out on all that roaming biz!

Very disappointed to report this as a fail.
I retried last night went as far as deleting the existing service books off my device and re sending them.

Here's my setup
BIS telus Vancouver. I did get the telus WAP browser but no FULL internet browser option.

As far as sept 15th. There is two possible anncouncements in the near future for telus. Both are confirmed I just don't know which ones rolling out first.

HSDPA soft roll out. I highly doubt this is the big one though as we can expect some hiccups with the transition

My thoughts are it will be that telus has either purchased or partnered with Bell canada.

What ever the announcement HSDPA will be rolling out within the next 4-6 weeks and yes vancouver will be first.

Sorry you couldn't get it working. Am I perhaps misinformed as to what you are meaning by FULL internet browser? This is what I am showing:

That is exactly what I am missing.

The only option is the WAP browser....

I had Internet Browser once before when I loaded .191 on the Tour

I live in Winnipeg.

A side note to you as well, are you trying to do this on your Tour, or Storm?

As for the memory, I only noticed that after you mentioned it. I don't pay much attention to it, as it rarely affects the performance.

I tried the tour last night. I wouldn't see this as a device issue though it's a network thing.

I will try my storm tonight and see if that works.

Would you mind PM'ing or emailing me your service books?

I'm in Abbotsford and that is the broswer I have. I'm using a Storm on Telus's BIS service. Just tell me how I can get the service books off the phone and I'll gladly send them to ya.

It will work for your Storm.

I have no idea about the Tour, however. I only have this confimed with the Storm, and to the best of my knowledge the service books would not be compatible between the two n'est-ce pas?

I apologize if I appeared to mislead anyone to that impression.

No man you have not been misleading at all. I only tried the tour last night. I wasn't about to do both as the first one didn't work.


The fact is doesn't work on the tour just blows me away.
