I am trying something new right now.

If worse comes to worse, just reload 191 or 140 or whatever hybrid you like. No need to drive yourself nuts over this.

Great news! I believe lyricidal still has the OTAs up for BBM 5.0.

Shut down the PC. Unhook the BB. Boot the PC. Once DM is open, connect the BB and see if that works.

If not, I would suggest a do-over. Like punting into the scoreboard at the new Dallas field. If you did not mega-wipe (wipe + factory reset via BBSAK), do that as a first step.

Worst case: put back whatever you had on before.

I have spent the past two hours or so trying to load the .140 radio into the .191 base OS. #FAIL

Took 1/2 a day off just to try your concoction...am loading .140 w/ .191 onto phone now...did not get message to "downgrade"...we shall see my friend!! Thanks..:Eyecrazy:

Not sure this is helpful but did you try copying the 191 java folder onto the 140 base? That would leave you with essentially the 191 base and a 140 radio.

I suggest that if you wiped after installing 191 onto the phone, you will not get the option to download. Others seem to think differently. I haven't tried it myself but the original directions from the stated source do differ (I think) from those posted in this OP. For now, I'll just stick with a solid hybrid. See #46-#58 for the late night discussion.

No. I wanted to see if 191 base would take the 140 radio. I tried both manual and swap. I suspect I would get the same if I loaded the 191 Java into 140 base, but please feel free to give it a go if you have time! I need to get started on getting FrankenLou back up.

weird...my phone hasn't rebooted back up on the last load...I get a very fast white screen and it tries again...then a very fast white screen and it tries again...and so on. weird...

doing so now...loudwiid your gonna have to add me to bbm again once I get it working, I have a new pin...I lost my phone Friday night at a club...pissed...mostly for the SD card :aargh4:
