Need some more info. The Sim card capabilities and S/MIME support, do I need those and what are they for? And is the Vodafone music app for the music player on the phone? I use my phone as a mp3 player.

S/mime is for BES encryption so if you are not BES then no you won't, if you don't plan on using your phone outside of the states then you don't need SIM card either.

Vodafone is only accessible for vodafone customers so you don't need that either.

Yeah you can even delete default font if you want LOL I did but put it back on a week later. It was a little hard to get used to the font you get stuck with

In regard to S/MIME & DOD Root Certificates (compliments of Neo):

They work together. S/MIME is for encrypting e-mails, the DOD Root Certificates are the certificates for the DOD Root servers which authenticate the user's certificates used to encrypt the message.

The S/MIME support only applies if you're encrypting e-mail, It requires BES, and the DOD Root Certificates are only applicable to DOD Employees, or those doing business with them.

    DOD is Dept of Defense
It has to do with Public Key Encyption/Infrastructure and digital signatures. Both of which are used a lot by the U.S. government.

    An error that may occur:
Application Terminated : Monsoon Service Has Been Denied The "Cross Application Communication" Permission

This message appeared again when trying to update Weatherbug. Uninstalling it was a solution

My interpretation, if you use BIS, you may have an issue with weatherbug.

Thank you for the info. It clarified questions I had and being that I don't need encryption services, I can delete it.

No problem, always here to help. This same thing drove me crazy at one point too, so thought I'd share what I learned. I deleted them both btw.

Pretty much all I keep are:
BB Messenger (because i actually use it)
    Games (also use them)
Default Font (because I don't like the font you get stuck w/ otherwise)
    VZ Navigator (use it)

Everything else can go, unless of course, you use them.

    Hope this helps
