I can not get a language to load to my 9530, can you help. I have unchecked it in the Shrink but does not install on loader.
If you could give me a little more information I would love to help you.
Which language are you trying to load?
Did you us Shrink to take the languages out?
If you answr to number 2 is yes then you will need to use shrink and select put it all back (or something like that). Then after you do this you can select what you would like taken out again.
Yes took all off and need to add Portuguese. Ran shrink uncheck it but does not show on loader.
You can manually add them back, do you know how to navigate to the RIM folder? It is c:/program files/Common Files/Research in Motion/Shared
you then need to select your OS 4.7.XXX
Go into the Java folder
Removed Files
Find the files with transcoding_data_XXX in the name.
Move them back to the the java folder.
Re run app loader.
I copied the files put in java ran loader but still not showing up. Why if I delete 148 OS from computer and wipe phone then reload OS on computer, do not run shrink os, why is all language not showing up in loader?
Wirelessly posted (Storm 9530)
You can erase the OS from your computer then reinstall it. Then run the app loader again.do not wipe your phone yet.
Reinstalled new OS ran app loader but why are all languages not there?
Did you download the multi lang .148
I downloaded the one from BBOS. Where can I find multi language download?
Since you're looking for an OS that has been officially released, I suggest you look here. Should be able to find what you want. Good luck.
BlackBerry - BlackBerry Desktop and Device Software Download Sites
Do you know why I can reload from Shrink OS? All Langs are listed there?
The languages are ALWAYS listed in Shrink a Os ...even if they aren't included in your operating system that you've downloaded. But, if you haven't downloaded the ALL laguage OS they aren't available for loading onto your device. You do need to download the all language OS version to your pc, install on your pc and THEN load it to your device. You could use shrink in this process to eliminate the other languages you might not want along with other things shown on the shrink template. Hope this helps.
Ok, well this is a Verizon phone so how do I decide which OS to load from the website you sent?
scroll down to north america, then verizon wireless. Follow on screen prompts and it will take you to download .148. It will take you directly to the verizon site and you'll be getting their official release. As far as I am aware, it includes the languages (but not certain).

Is that not the same OS on this site? Verizon official?
Not certain...Did you use the one from this site? Not sure if it's got all the languages or not...but going to the site I linked for you is the MOST official release of OS .148 you are going to find. It's straight from Verizon. That's about all the info I can offer.
EDIT: The one on this site is 3MB smaller than the one on the Blackberry site (the link I provided above). It may, indeed, be the difference of having the languages or not. I suggest you try the official from the Blackberry site and see how it goes.

Using v3.9 of Shrink-A-OS and I am unable to restore the OS using the "Put it Back" function. When I click "Put it Back" I get an error message. It appears the problem is the application is missing a "\" between the name of the OS files and the "RemovedFiles" directory.
Example, it's trying to restore from OSxxxxxxx\JavaRemovedFiles instead of OSxxxxxxxx\Java\RemovedFiles. Anyone else having this problem?
Maybe the screen capture makes this more obvious what I'm trying to say (I've highlighted the issue):
Instead of "Files\9530-v4.7.0.151_P4.0.0.186\JavaRemovedFiles'." this should be "Files\9530-v4.7.0.151_P4.0.0.186\Java\RemovedFiles' - with the "\" between "Java" and "RemovedFiles".
I have also attached the debug log with all the details. This appears to be tied to one or a subset of files. My original "RemovedFiles" directory after shrinking is 183 files, after clicking on the "Put it Back" the "Removed Files" directory has only 53 files in it - so it put back many of the files before the application errors out.
Update:
I was able to track this down to one single option being selected. I encounter this problem only when I have a check for "Galacian" under "Languages" and the "Put it Back". If I uncheck the radio box the "Put it Back" works fine.
Strangely, there are no files that are selected when I shrink the OS to remove "Galacian" language, so it's a file that I don't have in my .151 files.
