Thread: How are you all liking the NEW Hybrid V3

I think the memory management is the greatest feature.
Never seen my memory go up without doing anything to the phone. "quick pull, batt pull"

i agree. however my phone did that on .113 as well just didnt seem to recover as fast as it does on v3. plus everything just seems to flow better then any other version. im definately enjoying it.

Great hybrid. Running well. Still having some memory drain when running themes, but remains above 30. Has anyone found a theme that does not drain the memory?

I have tried a variety. Currently only have Blackberry Pro Blue installed and active. No other themes except the Precision Zen that comes with phone.

Very few apps installed. Soft Reset. I have memory cleaner enabled. I saw where someone said to disable that, but I thought running the memory cleaner occasionally would increase memory.

Themes = memory drain. I have heard of one but apologize as the name escapes me. As for memory cleaner I have run it enabled and disabled and have not any appreciable difference. Memory cleaner in my opinions slows things down so I have it disabled.

V3 is running strong right now. I am really loving it. I haven't had really any major issues with it. The internet didn't work after the 1st battery pull, but after a 2nd battery pull it is working great (and it is fast). I tried the .113 and I had all kinds of issues. So then I went back to the V2 hybrid. The V2 was the best up till V3 came out. I appreciate all the work everyone does on these hybrids. I have been reading tons on this site and the "other" site since my purchase of the Storm, but I thought I would finally comment because this version is really great.

I do have to say that I am addicted to the updates and to reading this website. And I've only had a blackberry for a couple of weeks now!

Just thought I would mention also that for every update I've done, I have used JL Cmder to do a complete wipe, then I have updated with the new OS. The memory has been the most stable on this V3 than any other version. I have stayed in the low 50 mb range since my last battery pull early this morning. I really don't have much on my BB right now so that is why my memory is so high. Everything is working great right now. I will update if anything changes.

So far this OS is great!

I spent the day cleaning the house and had my Blackberry hooked up the the stereo playing music for a solid 5 hours and the battery went from 100% to 70%. On previous builds, this would have dropped below 25%. The real test will be tomorrow at work when I'm constantly checking emails but I have high hopes.

5 hours 70%, thats great.
I used to do that for espn radio for 4 hours on the 113 build and it was at 40%

I had some issues with the install so I kept the .99 which has worked very well for me. For some reason I can't get the phone to back up in DM. It stops at the word dictionary or some shit and then gives me an error so I have stopped trying to load the hybrid.

Does anyone have an idea why it won't backup?

You need to clear your browser cache, you also need to enable mass storage mode.

Oh boy!!!! Ok that almost sounds above my abilities so I may tread lightly and ask for guidance. LOL

click on browser>BB button> option>cache operations> clear, clear clear

after that go to the main options> memory> auto enable mass storage mode when connected> yes

Pretty simple go to your Browser/BB Button/ Options/ Cache Operations and clear each one and exit. Then go to Options/ Memory and enable mass storage support/ and yes to Auto enbable mass storage when connected

figured that out now lets try the install. Wish me luck. LOL I need to backup the phone before I start the laoding of the 114 then move to the 114 V3 correct?

you should but it also asks you to back up when installing. Thats if you use apploader.

I had the same issue right after I got my Storm. After 2 hours on the phone with Verizon, we determined that the Browser Messages was corrupt. From the DM, got to Backup and Restore, then to Advanced. Choose Browser Messages in the right hand pane and then hit the CLEAR button right below it. After doing that, my backups worked and still work flawlessly.

Got the hybrid loaded, so far so good. Running no apps, Batt life don't know yet, but never had an issue with battery, mine was always memory. And the big test starting tomorrow will be the re load on my theme...lol

I was running the Ascarii 2.0 (love it) but it killed my memory. Within about 6 to 7 hrs I would be down to 0.0 meg. can't be having that...lol

But tomorrow I test Ascarii on V3.
