You are correct, you need to have downloaded and install the 114.exe to your PC. Before you can install the Hybrid v3.

Well I tried to download 114 V2 from Crackberry and the key pad while I am in a Phone call would not work. I am running 114 now on my phone but right now I am downloading the V3 Zip and the 4.7.0.114.exe file to see if that will help and the other Question I have is do I have delete the old ones and if i do how?

once you finish d/l v3
make sure you have 114 installed on your pc

go to the zip file of v3 that you downloaded, then...

Rt click on extracted file 9530-v4.7.0.114_P4.0.0.143

Go to Loader Files (C:/ program files/ common files/ research in motion/ shared/ loader files/ )

rt click and paste, yes to overwrite

tell me when you got that far

That is how I did the 114 be for so its the same way right. Is there any thing I need to delete on the computer First? or any old OS from be for?

you don't have to but most do.

if you want to do it just go into control panel, add remove programs and uninstall device software, not desktop software.

I currently have v4.7.0.109 on my 9530..which was somewhat of a pain to install since I first bricked my storm and had a little freak out in the middle of the work day since it's my only phone.

I have had a few platform issues since then where it will lock up with a white screen of death that only a battery pull fixes. It also then appears as though some of the recent things I had done actually didn't happen. I was currently plugged in charging my phone when I realize that my battery was actually draining, even though it had the little lightening bolt charge indicator over the battery status. I did a battery pull and it is now charging. (but man it takes forever to reboot.)

Will upgrading to 114 v3 fix these problems? I ask, because it's mostly a pain to reconfigure my phone - where I want differen files (I don't any secondary apps right now, although thinking about opera mini) - although last time I had to do a complete wipe so that could be part of it. If I should upgrade, it looks like I can find the v3 files from the front of this list...should I just do a websearch for the 144 platform?

Any tips (or link to a different forum) on how to upgrade. The last time it locked up without installing the OS when I tried to "upgrade" to .109 and it took me a while to get that straightened out...I finally went back to .75 and then to .109 without being connected to the internet to get it to work.

Installation instructions if you are already running the Hybrid
If you are reading this, the file has been extracted

1. Rt click on extracted file 9530-v4.7.0.114_P4.0.0.143, and click copy.
2. Go to Loader Files (C:/ program files/ common files/ research in motion/ shared/ loader files/)
rt click and paste, yes to overwrite
3. Up 2 levels to C:/ program files/ common files/ research in motion/ apploader/ delete vendor.xml
4. Same folder double click Loader.exe (looks like a phone)
5. Yes to downgrade
6. Back Up
7. Choose your apps you want installed
8. Verify installation
9. Finish

New Installation

If you are reading this, the file has already been extracted

After install, go to C:/ program files/ common files/ research in motion/ shared/ loader files, rt click on the .114 OS and "Rename". I would just put an "A" at the end. This will prevent the DM from asking you to update every time you connect and eliminate the possibility of you overwriting the Hybrid.

1) question being where do I download and install .114...I guess i'll just do a google.
2) I'm on .109 so that looks like I should doing an upgrade not a downgrade based on point 6. - this is what screwed me last time, overwriting a file I can handle

Its still a downgrade, because its not an 'Official" release. DM recognizes .75 as the highest.

WOW.... im outta the loop for 6 days (Country THUNDER USA, if ya know about it.. nuff said) and Crackman does it again... installin it now... thanx fer the hard work man... never a dis-appointment!!!!
