Leaving .191 going back to .140

today was kinda the straw that broke the camels back. on thursdays i normally listen to my media player for about 4 hours.i have to make two 2 hour round trips... the media player really let me down today. about 5-10 times an hour it would either pause itself, mute itself or have a hiccup. the hiccup would be a brief lower volume then be back to normal volume.when it paused itself and i would hit play again the volume would be at half way...i'd have to turn it back up.

after using 191 for almost a week the only real plus i saw was the ability to use 3rd party themes. the flickscroll was cool but not really a huge plus in my book.only a small plus(and folks say it should still be there after i downgrade). the threaded sms was kinda cool but ended up getting on my nerves more than it helped. when i would open an sms and and swipe down the keyboard to read the entire text, magically it would end up at the top of the convo and i would have to scroll back down to the bottom to see the current sms. if it was a long convo this could take several seconds.the sms viewer i purchased from empower was actually easier to use and more customizable. the only plus to 191 sms viewer was that it would pull all sms's from that contact and put them in one thread, the empower one will chop them up if you start a new convo with the contact. the absence of the camera was not that big of a deal but it's kinda like GPS...i don't use it a lot but i want it there when i need it. another big thing i missed about 140 was the ability to use BBalerts to give me an audible alert when i miss something....O and meterberry...i didn't really miss it but i will be reinstalling it with 140....ok i'm through rambling...

I think I'm doing the same tomorrow. I agree with the threaded sms too, thats what bbm 5.0 is for! Plus if you get text alerts from somewhere daily and never reply, over time you have a lot of scrolling to do to get to the bottom where the new text is.

I use my camera A LOT, especially on the weekends. So as nice as it has been, oh dearest .191, I too will be leaving you...

I have jumped back and forth from .191 and .140. Yesterday while I was entrenched in a spinning class, the media player did the same thin go me with .191. It was extremely annoying. I made the decision that .140 was the way to go becasue of that and not having a camera/video recorder. I am hoping that there will be an improved leak/official OS by months end.

I went back to 151 with BBC's 8.5. Overall, .191 was a great improvement. But, after 3 days of runnin .191 there was more and more functionality that was just not there. The improvements weren't worth the frustration to stick with 191

So am I and not having the issues others are reporting. Just goes to show that no two Storm were built alike, except for maybe the box it was delivered in.

    Downgraded from 191 to 4.7.0.167

Just to let you all know, in case you didnt know.... Your storm 9530 doesnt like going from 5.0 to 4.7 without wiping and reloading. :17:

I successfully bricked my phone tonight and two blinking red lights and would not be detected by the pc. I had to do the quick connect in desktop manager to be able to reload an OS. Great thanks to Crackberry for keeping the info up on how to fix a bricked phone. I would have been screwed and my boss would have killed me.

The Crackman is the best. I am so happy that i waited and did not install .191 and you have no idea how badly I wanted to. Until we get BBC's approval I'm staying pat with V8.5:yo:
