it's pretty nice and nifty actually. just finished loading it up and trying up the flick scroll. ym and msn works too... nice.... no fb? i guess i can live with that... hahahaha

edit:
only bbm5 needs a little work (download from bbhybrids' site). flick scroll works just fine, just restore the ipd file that is included in the ooakdpc's zip.

two thumbs up for ooakdpc....

Does the Camera work on this one...?, I know it was a problem with the 9530..

Yes. It is Great and you have flick scrolling and key ghosting.
To get flick scrolling install the flick scrolling backup file from the winrar archive via DM after installing the hybrid.

The camera does work from what i have heard.

I am bit confused! Can someone give me a quick guide how to install.

Do I have to install .191 first on my 9500 as Randykelly says?

You do not have to install it unless you want flick scrolling

1) Install 191 on cp
2) Install 191 on phone
3) Uninstall 191 on cp (and cp only)
4) Install 140 on cp
5) Install Hybrid
6) Delete vendor file and run loader .exe

This way you will have flick scrolling like the 191. I would recommend this method if you would like to have flick scrolling.

1 install 5.0.0.140 on PC
2 install hybrid(choose 9500 installer)
3 download the zip OOAKDPC9530beta50 and unzip it on desktop
4 open DM and go to backup and restore/restore and browse to the desktop and select the Flick_Scrolling_Backup.jpd.
5 do a battery pull

It should work now.

Lyric makes mention of the radio being "choppy" and this concerns me. After all the prime function is a phone and if the radio is questionable this is not acceptable. Does anybody care to contribute to the effectivity in making and receiving calls?

does this work on 3g or 2 g only as i could only get the old to run on 2g

on my 9500 Voda works both 3G and GPRS.

can you confirm that the data works as it should? i tried it, i can get the 3G and bb symbol, but no connection (cannot browse or receive email).

anyway, found some glitches of this hybrid.

1. VAD is not working
2. when you play music, then you run the camera and close it, the music will continue but then after few seconds, the device would just reboot itself.
3. keyghosting setting will be back to disabled after restart
4. flick scroll has unresolved issue in email/sms inbox, scroll up/down is not working in BBM
5. the message on the BBM will stop autoscroll (when you receive/send new message) after sometime or something (i haven't identified the cause yet)
6. flick scroll causes the top icon went half blank or completely blank sometime if you scroll up and down a few times
7. 3g network does not register correctly (sometime with BB symbol but no actual data connection, some other time / most of the time just 3G symbol)
8. gmail pluggin won't work at all
9. meterberry's restart won't function
10. experience one (so far) reboot when I received phone call.
11. slowdown (a lot) when picture is making thumbnails.
12. date/time autodetect is detecting wrong timezone all the time (as with all other 5.0 leaks)

the goods of this hybrid however:
1. cool new 191 theme
2. flick scrolling on every aspect
3. quick respond on orientation change and phonelock
4. good camera
5. robust contact detail
6. cool today (useful) screen
7. slick boot screen
8. very good memory management
9. BBM5/WLM/YM is working (with a bit of work out of course)
10. vibrate with ring (finally)
11. dedicated functioning file explorer
12. a lot better media player (songs is shown prior to playing a playlist)
13. better battery usage
14. better signal stability (with 2G of course)
15. tabs on browser (never use it as it is being on 2G all the time)
16. auto profile change, timed bedside mode (very useful one)

i think in 2 or 3 revision of the hybrid, it should hit the milestone of getting rid of all glitches and having all of those goodness of os5

anyway, i won't go back to old school os4 after using this hybrid and i don't encourage people of not using it despite the glitches.

well update i have tryed this and totally awsome exept the connections 3g still a no go on voda 9500 happened on the standard .140 full bars + the bb symbol but no conection works on gprs but i have tohang out the window to get a signal and since its raining heavily here thats not good . flick scrolling is sweet i love this exept for the 2g carry on .

Thank you very much for the mini guides. I ve done 4 battery pulls so far. 3G is not working for me. Will post findings later.

Who is your service provider? What makes you not think you are in 3G?

im on vodafone uk in 3g mode i cant get a conection calls fail no service books sent cant access email setup but i have full bars and bb icon next to it.
but it all works on 2g only setup

That's a tough one for me to answer. Have you tried resending your Host Routing Tables.?

yeh i tryed i recieved them on 2g but dont recieve on 3g

just tryed again no msg recieved until i switched back 2 2g tryin another bat pull

i had the ssame trouble on .140
