i honestly do not know what i would do without you guys!!!! Thank you i know feel somewhat safe to load a 5.0 on my storm.

What are your results for those using .154 as the base (aka, using the .154 .sfi) I heard that .154 was a wreck and always thought it was because of the .sfi

I need results!!!!

when loading the flick scroll.ipd what's the difference with the options database and the theme settings database..? or do you need both to make it function correctly

I do not quite understand your question?

when you load the flick_scroll_backup.ipd to enable flickscrolling there are two databases that it loads... one is options, and the other is theme settings. i was wondering if you needed both or maybe if you played with those two you could fix something.

You load the flick scroll through your DM, so there is not much to play with. You can try playing around with it to see if you are able to make something happen.

Do you find that it is better than loading the hybrid over .140?

I also worry about the potential for random reboots with .154 sfi vs .140 sfi

When i access my messages and emails i cant reach the top when flick scroll is on it goes about the days before it then stops moving

It's better to stick 140. It is overall just smoother and seems to function and perform better although the two are close. I noticed more unopened envelopes with the 154 and my vvm was not working as well.

It is possible to get the vvm by loading the alx file called net_rim_bb_vvm.alx. I tried and it failed because it was not compatible.
If that is the case, the files you need is
net_rim_bb_vvm.cod
net_rim_bb_vvm_alu_http_lib.cod
net_rim_bb_vvm_help__en.cod
net_rim_bb_vvm_resource.cod
net_rim_bb_vvm_settings_lib.cod
these are located in the java file.
Grab JLGUI at http://www.controlgenie.com/JLGUI.zip
unzip the file to you desktop and double click the JLGUI file. I will ask for the location of Javaloader, point it to the same file which has Javaloader.
Navigate to the Java file and look for the about cod files, highlight all of the above and drag it into the open JLGUI interface.
Click on install and wait for the BB to restart.

can you please confirm that your platform is 21 instead of 17? if it is 17, that means you are still using 140 as the base. i tried to load it up using platform 21 aka 5.0.0.154 as the base, it would not boot to main screen. it resets itself in the middle of the booting process.

I have already changed my hybrid so I can not answer your question. I saw 154, but I did not pay attention to the platform. It is possible to load on 154, but 140 is a much better feel. Try to load again the 154 and you will hopefully be able to not have any errors.

Dear RANDYRKELLY,

First of all thank you for the Super Hybrid. I have a 9500, and have been running on Hybrids since long.

I spent a couple of hours on your Hybrid 5, I tried to load it the way you have mentioned it, by erasing the device with BBSK, this does not work, after the selection on the programs, there is a message that the files needed for the email app are missing, and there is no way to uncheck the email application.

Tried a few things, then downloaded and installed the 140 Beta for the 9500, uninstalled the RIM Tools, and installed your Hybrid over the 140 beta, then I restored the Flick scrolling file.

It all went on well.

Now some issues -
1. when I restored the COD files from the BBSAK backup, they could be estored one by one only, this is time consuming, also I tried to rrun the appplication loader to get some more files, then the app loader deleted all the COD files that I loaded with the help of the BBSAK.
2. The devise reboots, some times, or when I am listening to the music and a call comes in.
3. The G Talk is not working (still working on it), the Face book application is not downloading, it says that it is not compatible with the phone model, the same is with GSync, but i got it through the BBSAK, by loading the COD.
4. Problem with Flick scrolling, in all the long lists, such as phone log, SMS list and the mail list, if i scroll, it does not display many recent (top of the list) data.

This is the review after a couple of battery pulls, and two days of usage.

BUT I am still going to use it till you have an update !!!!

** I do not understand that why RIM does not give the patches OTA, and always keep the OS upto date,

Facebook doesn't work on 5.0 OS's, not sure about the other program, but there are MANY programs that are not yet compliant with the new OS 5.0

-When you call your voice mail, you can't enter your password. Dial tones don't work and when you comeback (2=E, 3=R, 4=S you son't see a complete keyboard)
-Facebook don't work, need a new version
-Text over message icon when you have 2 buttom lines
-Standard SMS, not like BBM5, only in .191
-Calendar, can't show free time
-In language, Input Style = net.rim.tid.im.SpellCheckableInputMethodDescriptor @df66a3fa ???

I loaded the Hybrid over 140, if i re-install it over 154, would it give me some benefit, and advantages.
