Playing around with the cod files for the sms, trying to get true threaded sms with bubbles and I got my camera icon back. :haha:
I also find out that I have tab browsing on the browser side..
Will report back anything else I find.

I just loaded the hybrid onto my phone, and the answer is yes, Telus users do need to the AT&T service books for the browser. But beware, if you use this method to get your browser back, you will lose your media player. Don't ask me how these two things are connected, but they are. Everytime I do the AT&T service book trick, I get the following error at boot up "A browser content provider for audio/midi MIME type has already been registered with the browser." I try to open my media player and I get a "Cannot play content error."

So I will patiently wait for a 5.0 OS that will work on a Telus phone :irked:

Aim won't download. I'm going to try to restore it from my backup.

Update: It still doesn't work, even after restoring it and a battery pull. This may be a deal breaker for me. I use Aim all the time.

try this one out guys/gals...just tried it and everything seems to be working fine (including ym and bbm) except for facebook....

    -> 5.0.0.154 as base
-> install the hybrid, must select ym and bbm from the application list
    -> restore Flick_Scrolling_Backup.ipd
-> do a batt pull, not sure for how many times but i only did it once

most important thing, backup first before doing the above steps....

    goodluck

updated: flick scrolling is everywhere especially in message list....

What is the link for the installer and for 154? Has the base changed from 140?

found some glitches of this hybrid.

    1. VAD is not working
    2. when you play music, then you run the camera and close it, the music will continue but then after few seconds, the device would just reboot itself.
    3. keyghosting setting will be back to disabled after restart
    4. flick scroll has unresolved issue in email/sms inbox, scroll up/down is not working in BBM
    5. the message on the BBM will stop autoscroll (when you receive/send new message) after sometime or something (i haven't identified the cause yet)
    6. flick scroll causes the top icon went half blank or completely blank sometime if you scroll up and down a few times
    7. 3g network does not register correctly (sometime with BB symbol but no actual data connection, some other time / most of the time just 3G symbol)
    8. gmail pluggin won't work at all
    9. meterberry's restart won't function
    10. experience one (so far) reboot when I received phone call.
    11. slowdown (a lot) when picture is making thumbnails.
    12. date/time autodetect is detecting wrong timezone all the time (as with all other 5.0 leaks)

the goods of this hybrid however:
    1. cool new 191 theme
    2. flick scrolling on every aspect
    3. quick respond on orientation change and phonelock
    4. good camera
    5. robust contact detail
    6. cool today (useful) screen
    7. slick boot screen
    8. very good memory management
    9. BBM5/WLM/YM is working (with a bit of work out of course)
    10. vibrate with ring (finally)
    11. dedicated functioning file explorer
    12. a lot better media player (songs is shown prior to playing a playlist)
    13. better battery usage
    14. better signal stability (with 2G of course)
    15. tabs on browser (never use it as it is being on 2G all the time)
    16. auto profile change, timed bedside mode (very useful one)

i think in 2 or 3 revision of the hybrid, it should hit the milestone of getting rid of all glitches and having all of those goodness of os5

anyway, i won't go back to old school os4 after using this hybrid.

Do you try with the T-Mobile Service Book ?

I don't know if this was addressed, but I downloaded the first version that was released with the installer for the 9530 (don't know if that is the most recent or not, but based on OP it seems like it is).

    • Still don't see the 3G instead of the 1XEV
    • SMS and E-mail inbox issues... must click the arrow to scroll to the top of the list and see newest messages
    • Occassional issue on Browser -- when I click the address bar, everything disappears (though 'http://www.' still remains, it is invisible)... also must hit 'Go' twice after entering in web address for it to navigate to page
    • Dialing a button mid-call issue still not resolved (i.e. *228, when pressing the '1' button to activate phone, button not recognized)

    • Flickscrolling EVERYWHERE
    • VERY stable -- have lost very little memory in the past 2 days, on average within 0.8 MB of start-up memory.
    • Great battery life (used moderately for a day and didn't charge overnight, was at 54% battery life in the morning when I would typically have a dead phone on other OS).
    • Slacker Radio works perfectly
    • QuickLaunch, BerryAddon, MeterBerry, and VCast Song ID all work perfectly
    • Doing the downgrade from .191 without wipe allowed for my enhanced gmail to work just fine, with the exception of the message issue, which is minor because I can still access it, just can't scroll to it, must use the arrows at the bottom of the screen

Overall, really liking it. Not sure if there is a new revision because the OP said the latest revision was aug 31, but could just be my own mistake on reading the OP. Great work guys!!! Can't wait to see the super hybrid!

Great list, but please add that text selection does not work scroll when trying to edit during typing. e.g, while typing text messages, e-mails, etc...
