I have been having a pretty annoying issue happening with .191

For some reason, the lower 1/5 of my screen will randomly become white and unusable. The only way to fix it, is to go into landscape and then back into portrait. Also, my unlock is finicky. I will unlock it, and it will actually go to the home screen, then I go to click an icon, and boom, it is locked again. Sometimes, this happens a few times in a row.

This did happen to me at the begging, but it hasn't come back in a while... I noticed it happening more when I had the slide/lock app installed.

Mark, I have had that happen to me as well. I think it may be a bug reading themes, including stock one or a glitch adjusting OS to storm's full size touch screen. Those would be my guesses. When it happened, I let it sit and it went away, sometimes it required a battery pull.

I think it's just that 191 is so fast the bottom can't keep up with the top and takes it a few seconds to catch up :laugh2: then again it could be a bug

The quickest fix I have found is to actually just go to landscape, then switch back to portrait. The accelerometer "clears" the screen somehow.

Yeah, I am not sure what is going on, but the bottom, just becomes useless.

Yeah that happened to me and still happens now and then

I have not been having any issues with .191 however i went back to .40 after some people reported issues with 3rd party apps. I am willing to deal with these problems however it sounds like the next leak will not have these issues fixed either so im gonna stay with .42 until i hear something different.....

Hey Mark mine has been doing this recently as well. It seems to only show up on mine in places where the keyboard would normally try to show up...ie replying to an email or sms or opening a web page with a form box. My left convenience key is set to my virtual keyboard, so I just open my keyboard and close it and it takes care of it for me.

It seems to be a screen refresh issue, sort of like when a Windows app leaves a persistant black box on your desktop. It usually points to a bug in the video driver, which could be evidence that RIM has been tweaking the graphics driver inside of the SFI. They are probably implementing some sort of GUI acceleration ala Windows DirectDraw to speed up the interface. Not 3D acceleration, but GUI acceleration (if they implemented 3D acceleration, there would likely be an OpenGL logo on the About screen)

Rotating the screen "clears" it because it forces a complete screen redraw. I would bet it will be fixed in later builds.

Has anyone else notice this:

Every morning on my way to work I open up my iheartradio app....well it plays great thru my BT Pioneer AVIC D3, the problem is that when I park my car and close down the app the built in media player is playing songs muted! how's that when I never opened the player?.....has anyone else noticed this?

I have not noticed this problem. I will look into an answer for you, but it may just be one of those pesky bugs from the 191 os.

im not sure if its been posted already but i found out on my phone that if you do a battery pull your content cache from the browser gets reset back to 0. So that might be a reason why some people are noticing a difference in speeds at times in their browser.

LOL....I was just looking at the post count. Mi Malo senior!

Oh yeah my post count is low work alot lol and I had a few problems before getting things posted but everything was handled Blackberryos so im back now lol.

I have a question that I have not seen answered here. I have tried .191 twice. Each time I have had the same issue. At night I set my alarm and place my storm in charging cradle in bedside mode...I have awoken to find a grey screen and it frozen. Anybody else? Any known fix?
