[RESOLVED] Getting enhanced GMail plugin to work with 191???

    UPDATE:
Set the SMS and Email boxes to Separate in the General Options of Messages Options.
Now you should see the gmail options available when hitting the BB button when viewing your messages in the gmail account.

Has anyone been able to get the Enhanced GMail plugin to work with 191?
I've tried several different ways of setting up my GMail on BIS from PC and from phone, but I still don't see any kind of enhancements, it looks the same as the regular blackberry email.

    TIA

If you have your gmail account setup to deliver to your phone via the blackberry enail setup you should see a secondary email folder for your gmail account. if you access your gmail via that folder you will sese the enhancements. You can star, label, and archive your messages from within that mailbox. If you access the messages via your regular message inbox...you won't see the enhancements. Hope that makes sense.

What gmail icon are you talking about? Does your gmail appear in your main messages folder? I have three separate email accounts delivered to my phone. All of my messages appear in my main messages folder (the "Messages" icon on the home screen) and I also have two other icons for each separate mailbox that I hide. But in .191 I have un-hidden the gmail account folder because when I access my gmail messages in that folder I have the gmail enhancements available. I can select a message, hit the BB button, and in the options I can archive, label, and star messges.

It's a mail icon that appeared after I setup my gmail account at BIS.

EDIT: OK I got it to work. Had to set the SMS and Email boxes to Separate in the General Options.
Apparently this effects the gmail plugin options even if your still going into the separate email accounts/icons.

I am also unable to get the enhancements. It won't load it when I upgraded to .191 and in the email it sends you saying to upgrade to enhanced google mail plugins. it says sorry your phone isn't compatable when about to download it. I just want the OP to kow they aren't alone with this problem.

Well, the plugin is already there, it's integrated in the 191 OS, so there's no need to download it. I'm assuming that's why that message appears when trying to download it.

Well then thank you. Now I am really appreciative. It was weird because I haven't used this in so long it looks almost identical. Can you tell me how I can star or add different labels?

I just wanted to say that I got this to work and thank you very much. If I had know that I'd be able to delete messeges of my phone that they'd delete off of my online account like this I would have used this from the beginning.

Now I must ask because I feel my understanding was all wrong. What is the difference between 1-way synce and 2-way sync? And to clarify, this application is only 1-way sync, correct?

I am not sure how to answer this question, but I can only imagine a 1 way sync effects one side of the mail carrier, while a 2-way sync will erase/delete from either side of the mail carrier.

I don't understand why 2 way sync isn't standard yet. I would gladly add Gmail to my BIS if it had 2 way sync with archiving and labels.

You are saying that with a Gmail account, if I log in to email settings on my Storm, go to Synchronization Options, and check the box that says "<--> Deleted Items" that it still will not do 2-way syncing for archiving and labels?

Pretty sure it won't... Somebody can correct me if I'm wrong.
