Thread: Fix for icons(weather)not updating with 191?

aight...i said earlier that my icon was updating nicely with the elle theme and that it might be theme related. well i uninstalled something and rebooted my phone to complete the uninstall. when i booted back up my icon was the stupid red umbrella from berryweather. i may have found a fix for it. when you first change themes it seems to work then after your first reboot it stops working. just change themes...then change back to the one you want. it's working for me to do that...give it a try and see if it works for you.

Interesting find Cat :fing02: It is weird that this issue seems to be storm related as I have not experienced this with 191 and the Tour.

I was wondering that to bryan because berry weather is working fine on my tour. I was shocked to see people posting about BW.

So it's a theme thing then is anyone running the stock theme and BW and having this issue?

yes folks have had the same problem with stock theme. so it may be theme related but not a problem for a specific theme...

+1 confirmed changing the theme makes the weather icon show for BerryWeather

The same with bbweather after reboot I have to move the icon, and then go to home screen, then go back and move the bbweather icon to its Original slot (if that makes since)

Hey Cat I don't think you have to change themes just do the move around thingie

I agree. I had this problem with Berry Weather and I use Natemz Blak and Blue theme. I just move the icon around and it loads up. Kind of a pain, but the only fix for now.

Tried that...didn't work. You have to move the icon once

I found if you just the position of the weather icon from let's say the 1 spot to the 10 the spot and then back to the first spot that also works at least it did for me.
The problem I have is that no matter what I have done the weather icon will not update to the current temp. For exsmple, right now it shows 72 when its really 85.

As far as BBWeather goes this does not work. Not only weather apps but Aces Texas Hold'em doesn't show right on the Home screEn either.

This does not work for me!

To me the $64 question is getting the weather icon to update according to the real temperature, if you get what I am saying?

It's funny. The temp updates but not the icon. It was saying "84 Fair" with the moon. In the app screen the icon is the Sun.

J, I had this happen too, I used to have the show temp on homescreen box check marked and I used the Format for conditions only. If you uncheck the home screen temp option and set the format to Temp then the home screen will show the temperature and update accordingly, I also found Temp + Condition worked if you want both but sometimes it's alot of words to fit in a small space. Now the animation showing sun, cloud, moon, etc. does not change unless you do the move icon and reset trick previously described.

CONFIRMED : Simple Weather is doing the same thing with the "Fix" im watching to see if temp changes but going back to the default ZEN theme then back to CANDi helped mine display on screen....
