Thread: Flick scrolling on 5.0.0.140!!!!!!

I have it. I also have an active BBM5 and a functioning camera/ video. This is great. Almost all the benefits of .191 without the glitches.

Here are the instructions on how they are doing it. Keep in mind that flick does not work in all menus and is choppy in some. Thanks to BritishTurbo and Paul for posting these up

I'm testing it now, but it seems this is how it works:

1.) Install 5.0.0.191 on PC
2.) Upgrade Storm to 5.0.0.191
3.) Remove 5.0.0.191 from PC
4.) Install 5.0.0.140 on PC
5.) Downgrade Storm to 5.0.0.140

After reboot should have working flick scroll on the 5.0.0.140...

I did this myself and it does work. I used the hybrid version of .140 that was created by OOAK and Lyricidal. I have flick scrolling everywhere. The only problem for me is my messages, the flick scrolling is very choppy and not smooth and i di have my camera back and all my other apps.

Wait so BBM5 works with this?? With .140 not .191, right?

it does work with .140. Follow the directions and you are good as gold. Only the main screen does not have flick.

No just install .140 over it

This combined with the hybrid OOAK and lyric are working on will be pretty sweet. I'm trying it on his beta .140 hybrid and its nice!

It's the restoration of the Backup from 5.0.0.191!

If you backdate from 5.0.0.191 to 5.0.0.140 and do NOT restore your backup... you get no flick scrolling...
If you then restore the backup from 5.0.0.191... specifically the "Options" section of the backup, then after a reboot you get the flick scrolling.

What this means is that it was always in 5.0.0.140... it was just disabled by default... where as in 5.0.0.191 the flick scrolling is enabled.

Case closes

But my conclusion is that the flick scrolling wasn't very good int he "messages" folder on 5.0.0.140 Much much better on 5.0.0.191

It seems that it is actually on 5.0.0.140's OS and disabled. This method will restore it though it is slightly glitchy as scrolling down in the message folder does not work you must use the arrows but is great everywhere else.

No thanks to the .140 SFI. After using the .191 SFI the battery, radio signal and overall performance just doesn't outweigh the need to have BBM 5 and a camera which I never use.

Good find though to those who are interested.

Josh, I am with you on this one. Although, I have had really good results with .140 SFI...but random reboots just killed it. Now I can run my Opera Mini and bbm 4.7 at same time all I want and not worry about anything...I miss camera but like the use easy of reboots when needed

It's all good my friend. It was one crazy day

I am running this and it is great so far.

No charge indicator, but my phone charged perfectly overnight.

Scrolling works everywhere except for SMS, E-mails, and Call log. There it is useless and you have to use your arrow keys to scroll. But not too bad to have it everywhere else.

It's great to have a camera, BBM 5.0 AND have flick scrolling as well.

I'm sticking with 191. I hated the bugs in 140. Camera is the only problem for me in 191. I will wait for a fix for that.
