Thread: 9530 OS 5.0.0.191 Findings and Fixes #2

Love the .191!! Just wish i could get my meterberry to work.. Anyone trying to fix that issue yet? Also stupid me didnt write down activation key for Weatherbug elite. So i think im just gonna have to put a non base 5.0 OS on the phone real quick get activation code and reinstall 5.0..

Im not saying this will WORK at all but what I did was very common sense in structured COD (everything MUST point to a file or it will Null) so maybe this might just be something that works (I HOPE SO!) if not ill keep digging... I had both of the files lined up going through them and instead of droning through all of the files, I thought about that It just makes sense

Great thoughts!!

Problem is that the once the .sfi file is asked by any .cod camera file or video recorder file (.190 bold, .191 tour, .140 storm, etc...) to open either the camera or video recorder, it reboots. It isn't the asking to open that is not working, it is the actual opening of that part of the hardware that is causing the reboot.

At least those are my thoughts. I really doubt it will work, but I hope sooo much that it does.

Hey Fletch, with MB there won't be a fix for that until the developer re-writes the code to make it compatible with 5.0. I wish I had it as well but I guess in one way it's good thing. One less OCD to worry about

Unfortunately, I believe your rationale is correct Mark. But that being said, I am down for being the lab rat for this. But it's been a long day so I am going to get some sleep before attempting this.

You know like I said... could be just a stupid idea.. but worth a try... Granted the SFI could be calling out.. if the COD has null points it wont even work... As I went through the hex all the values and destinations for the png's and midi files were the same.. just something I saw out of whack...

Thats the 140 cod Cam file - you must swap that one for the 191 COD cam file... remember to rename the original with .bak so u can switch them back....

So rename the "net_rim_bb_camera.cod" to "net_rim_bb_camera.bak" in the 191 os java folder... then place mine in there... so it takes the spot

I heard that it still works with 5.0 just not the homescreen temp. I just like my motion radar... Also, being the inside man for most things... Any word as to if the meterberry guys are working on a fix for the 5.0? I can deal without the meterberry till it gets updated i just want my weatherbug... Are there any apps that do a soft pull for 5.0?

it keeps showing i have the .190...let me try using bbsak.. crackutil is fin up

Flick scrolling works like a charm for me as well, this was my first download/upgrade!!! All I need now is a camera.

sorry i think all our attention is directed into priorities "Camera" getting it to work... I have never used Meterberry in any OS so i myself cant help you but im sure someone will address this...

Don't be silly, there are no stupid ideas. And perhaps the results, whether they are good or bad will help determine how next to proceed with a solution.

of course the wife deleted it.. grr installing bbsak will return shortly 4 min

if you did what I said maybe its showing that because I changed 140 to 191 inside the file...
