No, I plug it into the computer, it connects and works for a couple seconds and then just like a battery pull it resets over and over.

Try using safemode. Hold the "back" button the entire time it is booting up. Might let you boot it so you can wipe it.

Yes your phone is in a reboot cycle. Follow these instruction exactly and this should fix it:

Make sure your BlackBerry IS NOT connected to your computer. Locate and Open the App Loader application. Go to your C Drive (operating system drive) and navigate your way through the folders to Program Files > Common Files >Research In Motion > AppLoader. Once you are in the AppLoader directory, double click on the Loader application shortcut.

Next connect the BlackBerry to the Computer via USB cable. But here's where the tricky part comes in with the Nuked BlackBerry. What you want to do is plug in the BlackBerry, and when COM1 switches to say USB-PIN:UNKNOWN immediately click Next. This catches the BlackBerry and takes it out of the constant reboot cycle and allows you to then reload the Operating System.

Tip: The USB-PIN:UNKNOWN option will display for a few seconds when the BlackBerry is first connected/flashing its LED in red. With a Nuked BlackBerry, that occurs when the device is in the initial start-up part of it's reboot sequence. The easiest way to get that to happen (vs. waiting for that step in the reboot sequence where you have a tenth of a second to hit Next before you lose your chance) is to simply pull the battery from the BlackBerry. With the battery pulled, connect the BlackBerry to the USB connector and as SOON as you see USB-PIN:UNKNOWN hit Next. You have to be quick still, but using this method you are in control of the timing. From there you can put the battery back in and battery cover back on (Make Sure you install the battery or else when the OS update is completing and the device disconnects from the computer to reboot, it will lose the power provided by the USB connection and you will get an error and have to do it all over again!).

** If you don't get it right the first time, try again (unplug from USB, pull battery, connect and hit Next while USB-PIN:Unknown is showing). You have to be fast and the timing is key, so it may take you three or four tries.

Pulled the battery and its working now, but this isnt the first time its happened..going to play around for a couple of minutes and see if the theme or one of the applications triggers it. Thank you everyone who has helped me with this situation. I will be reporting the outcome very shortly.

If after playing with it and it continues to happen, will totally try this method. Thank you! Will be reporting in shortly.

    Thanks!

A couple more battery pulls and about 30 min of playing with the phone, checking the memory card, deleting applications, connecting to the computer and others, the phone is now performing as it should and its a pleasure to use now. Thank you to everyone for your input and help during the time of "crisis" . Thanks again and as a new member to the website I can say that so far i have been welcomed into a community of helpful people that are pleasant to associate with. I look forward to accessing this site further and thank you to everyone for your help and for welcoming me into this community of Blackberry Users.

    hey all new member here

just got a Storm today, traded a scratched up g1 for it.

it even came with the box, all the goodies including the 8gb card.

all he got was the g1 and the charger lol.

    anyways its unlocked on tmobile.

i been playing with it, loaded up gmail app, opera mini and deleted alot of pork programs that took up space.

now im reading about these betas.

    how is the newest one?

im running the 4.7.0.75 and its decent but i have noticed its a lil laggy and annoying at times.

is the 191 a huge jump? is the menu faster? general everything faster?

    thanks all!

I've been in the community for a little while now but I just discovered this site today. I had been here before reading a thread I was linked to or something but never registered. I think from now on I'll be visiting more regularly. This place is a lot friendlier than some of the other forums I've found...

Wow .75!? No wonder he traded you for a beat up G1 :laugh2: That OS is horrible!

This new leak (not beta!) is a HUGE jump and has TONS of improvements but at the same time it will kill your camera haha. If you want to play with the camera then I'd recommend using 4.7.0.151 or maybe even .148 Those two are quite stable, fairly good with memory, and MUCH better than .75. The only thing you won't have that this new leak does are things like flick scrolling, threaded sms, and a few others.

lol i did not realize .75 was so old!

i will upgrade to the .151 tonight and wait for a 5.0 to come out that doesnt kill your camera.

you should be able to just run that all in one installer from 75.... Im pretty sure theres no need to go step by step on the ladder of OS... basically it installs 151 and then hybrid over with some steps...
I dont know exactly where the step by step is in BBOS but I wrote this great pic tutorial here WJD Designs How To Install a Hybrid OS on your Storm

try checking your permissions... since you upgraded maybe permissions got changed to custom and not full allow... although I never used them... most uncaught seems to point to permissions good luck!
