    This is the best link

You won't have to remove RIM internal tools

its easy. all you do is install the OS to your computer, then plug your phone in and install. its not that big of a deal, once you do it once, you can do it a million times with your eyes closed. Seriously if you know how to use a computer at all it wont be hard. As far as your comparison to .148, it does not even compare. there has been so many upgrades since 148 it is ridiculous. live up to your name and give it a try!!

I am disappointed they didnt keep tabbed browsing from 5.0.0.140 though. maybe if i use the browser file from that it might? idk. either way i am happy with this os, it has all the features you could dream of. iphones wouldnt be half of what they are today if storms just released with this software!!!!!11

Great!!! I'm happy it worked for you! Shrink is a great tool, you should give it a try some time.

I must say I am a believer now. And on top of that, you have just let me experience this phone 100%. I refused to do anything with this phone until I put BBM on or I'd go to .154 and you did. I mean I followed your directions, but you did the hard work. Thank you again. And if you aren't on CB, I gave you a shout out over there too because you deserve all the credit. Much respect.

    Odd observations

The auto-dim backlight is off on my phone, but it seems to auto dim still. If I hold the phone in portrait, it lights up again.

The 'music' option is missing in media.

If I go to files, then open an mp3 on the media card, it plays.

yea same problem with dimming. Also had this prob with .140. Its kind of annoying. :Eyecrazy:

Maybe its a setting? If anyone has any ideas, please share them.

yes!! Outside of the camera being shitty this is the way this phone should have come from RIM in the first place!!!

OK Josh, MePascal had me chasing my tail locking the other thread as I couldn't reply & thought it was my phone (cache dumps, resets, page refreshes etc.) I was one page away from your close message MePascal.

    Back OT.

As far as the Tabbed browser goes, I don't miss its use I just wasn't sure of it was a bad install. All's good.

    P.S. Thanks for .191!

Guys I read the reviews and waited to load this OS. Well I loaded the file without the RIM Tools and the install went flawless.

I have to say that all the advantages that I read about (Threaded SMS, Flick Scrolling, speed of phone, new menus and color are EPIC! This OS is so impressive that I am going to use it all weekend.

I am coming from BBC's V8.5 and I loved that, but this 5 series OS is untouchable. All my 3rd party apps work, (QuickPull Pro, Beyond 160, Berry Weather, Quick Pull, Launch Pad, Memory Manager Pro, Battery Booster, File Manager Pro, BBOS Launcher, Bluff My Call, B of A, Forward with Edit )

The ONLY drawback for me is NO CAMERA as reported. I use my camera on my two kids, but my wife has a Tour and can take the pics until someone gets the camera to work or a later build.

Yet it and see. This thing is lightening fast and so much fun!

    Hope this helps.
