Thread: 9530 OS 5.0.0.191 Findings and Fixes #2

Oh yeah and as for an overall review:

Pros:
Flick Scrolling (LOVE it!)
Threaded SMS (Awesome!)
Contacts picture shows on incoming mail and in SMS
3G Icon is nice
New Profile icons
LOUD ringtones, I set my phone to Medium instead of Loud now haha
Speed is great!
Memory seems to be holding strong
Media Player seems to work a little better to me
Overall the OS just feels good, not sure how else to say it lol

Cons:
Camera & Video Camera
Gmail sometimes duplicates itself so I have 2 gmail icons (not a big deal, just resend books or hide it)

Apps I'm running with no problems:
Pandora
Slacker
TFLNBerry
Wattpad
Aces Solitaire
The Oregon Trail
Bubble Defence
Zodiac
ZonaSnap
QuickLaunch
CB AppStore

I've also tried some themes that worked just fine.

That's it, I haven't got any random reboots (besides the camera) or weird stuff going on. I didn't put the spelling tape on pros or cons because some might love it, some might hate it. It kind of annoyed me.

Most hybrids are just a combination of files from different leaks/releases that are combined in a way where they work well together. This usually ends up as a stable release with some new features.

That idea can't fix the camera because all the cool new features are in the same file as the screwy camera, so they can't just switch out the screwy file with a nice one because we'll lose everything. There are too many people coming on saying "Lyr and BBCM will fix this with a hybrid any minute now!"

Their around just in the lab prolly mixing up another tasty brew.

im about to install this damn leak, phone is working really good but need to have this felling on my own so, bbsak get ready for a clean install (hope everything goes smooth )

EDIT: Oh, wanted to say, I got info that the camera is fixed in build .20X, so we are getting close...

Mark if you grab the .cod and paste it into the build in apploader -shared. Then run app loader and view details it will show you what files are being updated without clicking load.



Ever highlight the first item in the list of applications or just the camera .cod file and then details > modules - you will see it.

Thanks for the input. It would definitely work, was hoping for something more like jlevy was saying

But it would save me from loading the .cod if I really wanted to know.

Just spoke with Sith, and I am sure you guys are aware that he is building a hybrid. Well he has stopped to wait for a new build to be released.

the .20x builds are slowly being released internally now (.204 specifically). Those are the builds I will be basing the hybrid off of. If i can complete it before they get leaked, you would see pieces of those in the hybrids.

From what CX has said, .20X is the build where the camera works. So soon we will have a hybrid with all of the best features we have been wanting!!

BBM 5.0.0.19 will work on 5.0.0.191+

Thanks for the heads up on that. In the meantime I will enjoy this build until the next one comes along. Unless of course someone can strip apart the SFI and find where in the SFI the camera file is located.

A little bit more from Sith about the new camera:

I have not had issues on the clarity of the camera. Mostly the problem is that it takes FOREVER to actually capture the photo, so if you move even a little it blurs it.

Sounds like they are still getting it figured out.

Oh no, sorry, a newer build. Somewhere in between .191 and .204

My bad for not being clear. He is waiting to get .204 though apparently which shouldn't be too much longer, then build the hybrid using those files.

I woke up and im bummed that the COD didnt work still haha I tried hard!
