Here is my review of the new OS. It's not my best video - I've been feeling crappy today, but it's a good 9 minute video showing some of the new features.

how did u get google maps to work. did u install a fresh install after .191 was installed or did u do it from a 3rd party back up?


BTW...idk if u noticed, but in ur title of the youtube video, ur missing the B after black lol

One of two ways, either installed from a back up or used a workaround from a Cod file (which I am trying to find).

Thanks, fixed it!

And I did a 3rd party apps backup then restored it. If you try to download a new version, it will give you the trackball version.

yea I read that, i was hoping u some how figured a way to do it from a fresh install

def. let me know if u get it working.

I never do 3rd party back up. I just reinstall them, so until someone figures out a way to do it form a fresh install, i'll just have to go w/o Google Maps...

Same here I hope someone can find the correct version and maybe make an OTA of it :hail:

Ive also got all the brand new versions of the RIM IM apps working. All 2.5+ versions of AIM, Google Talk, Yahoo Messenger, and MSN Messenger! They are sweet!

they are in the OS package. Just make sure you don't shrink the IM stuff away with shrink-an-os, because unlike prior OS packages, the IM apps bundled in this one are not just launchers to a download site, but they are the actual IM programs.
