Got the hybrid installed. Recharging phone right now but email alerts do not work. BBM 5.0 alerts do work. So far everything seems to work but more time will tell. I booted up at 46mb which is 2mb more than BBC V8.5 that I installed this over. Yes, I did not wipe the phone since my experience has found that 5.0 installs and works better over your existing OS. Everything backed up and loaded perfect and didn't take very long, less than 15 minutes. I verified that 140,154 and 130 files show in applications>modules.

I'll report back later with any new findings. I've kept a log of my install and batt pulls and will log any random reboots or other quirks should they arise.

    No error Message at boot-up.
    Memory booted at 41.6
After 3 battery pulls 42.5 (added Social Scope and BBM5)
    No lag in typing
    So far no hour glasses
    Transitions as fast as .140
No stuck message indicator when receiving emails
    Prompts work (unlike .154)

Okay, so I'm only on pull #2 but here is what I've noticed so far.

    • BBM 5.0 works just fine (I installed it OTA and not on initial install).
    • MeterBerry and QuickLaunch seem to work fine.
    • I do not have any errors on the start-up like you said we might experience, Randy.
    • Enhanced Gmail to be used with BlackBerry Inbox does not work, but I didn't expect it to, just figured it was worth looking into.
    • Quick to restart; starting up with 48.2 MB (did not Shrink AT ALL)

    Still going to examine if:

    • Slacker Radio works
    • Other 3rd party apps
    • Keep you posted on battery life/memory as well as if Slacker and other apps work correctly... Slacker is pretty much a longshot, but I LOVE IT!

    Wirelessly posted

Installed and DID NOT get the bootup error that I was anticipating. So far no issues got it all setup and all of the 154 issues are gone. Very quick and responsive

To fix e-mail alerts, go to profiles>edit profiles> (Click Messages)> make sure volume is not silent!!! That was why my E-mails weren't giving me an audible alert.!

I found that when 5.0 first leaked a few weeks ago but my backup set everything the way I had it with a volume setting of 5 and the alerts are still Not working, must be a radio thing.
When in doubt, pull the battery out!

So, I loaded this hybrid right over OOAK's 7.99 w/ 151 radio. I did not wipe first. I am bad boy. I did not load any 3rd party apps during the download. I booted up with 54.3mb, but I did not have Docs to Go initially. I loaded all of my apps manually. He is what I have found:

I did not get an error from initial load.
Camera/Video Camera are quick. No lag on start or to delete.
Typing is great. But I have always like .140's typing speed.
Pandora radio works fine, so far. I have not run it for a long time.
BBM 5.0 loaded fine and my contacts resurfaced quickly.
The boot up time with no apps was like 2 min. It increased to 3.5 min after apps.
However when I ran a straight .140 sometimes it would be longer.
Scrolling through messages is slightly faster than w/ straight .140.

Themes still do not work, but we would expect that.
I am running Blak Theme w/ BB Alerts.
No problem with 3rd party apps so far and not random reboots.

After install of 3rd party apps and Doc2go I am at 46.7mb memory and battery life seams to be stable.

Still no facebook, but that is no biggy.

I am anxious to see what other feedback is out there.

I didn't get the error message. I had around 42 MB of memory after install.
After installing apps and BBM, everything seems to work fine so far and I booted up with 44.5 MB.
I have gotten some hour glasses here and there.
Browser seems to be super fast and sliding through menus/apps seems very smooth.

    Still testing things out.

Booted with roughly 39MB first few times. Still too early to give feedback.
The java folder was already shrunk in case you all didn't notice. Hopefully you all replaced the java folder and did not overwrite it.

So far seems ok. Not real sure what we are looking to gain over stock .140 besides some visual things maybe. Of course, I didn't give .154 much of a chance because it sucked!
