Third party apps work not sure about bb app world
Themes leave notification message on like before .
Browser is fast.
No problems with notifications with Sen theme.

When you mention notification message still be left on with themes, is this after you open messages then open the message that is received in bold letter, read it then delete it from that screen? Reason I ask is with regular 140 I was getting the email icon after I deleted the message, but I figured out it was on messages that I had read on my pc so I just deleted the message on my storm without opening it, if I open the message and delete from there I have yet to have an icon remain with my theme, with this hybrid or straight up 140. Just curious.

Another ? fellow testers, when you mention not getting the error at boot up that OOAK mentioned is this different from a screen immediately wanting to Reboot the phone or in 9 minutes it will automatically reboot? I had that screen earlier with this hybrid the same as with 140 when it first leaked.

Now for the first time ever, I did not have to go through the setup today, no fine print agreement page then signal page followed by the time setting and keyboard choices.

I got the reboot request, rebooted then came back up with my wallpaper, 1XEV, 2 email messages from BB and VZW, icons where I left them etc.

I think the reboot screen that you got is different from the error message that Randy and OOAK said we would receive when we first downloaded this hybrid.

5150...Bout to install this, but 2 questions. 1-did you have to use your backups (DM/3rd parties) or were they there after the load? 2-Do I need to delete the java folder and then move the new one over instead of overwriting?

I just extracted the JAVA folder and overwrote it. I'm pretty sure it wouldn't matter which way you did it.

1) Back up your 3rd party applications for sure!

2) Delete the java folder and then move the new one. Do not over write it, manually delete it.

I would recommend multiple battery pulls. This is a fantastic build. It will be tough to give this one up. All .140/.154 files. There was no error message for me I had an easy install. So far I have had no bugs. I will post back on memory hold up as well as battery life.

I found that if I read the message first and then erase then I will not have any problem with notification.

Update: I was just listening to music and was sending a text. When I clicked Send from the menu, a quick failure screen came up and my phone reset. This never happened to me before, so it will probably never happen again.

Ok got some time now (hunneydo list complete). Gonna back-up, install, then report. I will be installing from OOAKDPC 7.99.

Sorry, I was watching the game away from my computer, but to answer your question I did not have to use my backups at all. It installed from start to finish without a glitch. I opened the 5.0 Java - selected all - then deleted the contents leaving an emtpy folder. I opened the hybrid java file - selected all - copied - then pasted into the empty java file in the 5.0 OS.

then used apploader after deleting the vendor,xml and of course deleted the RIM tools before I did any of this.

I didn't wipe and in the past I have had better success without wiping. When I did a wipe I had to use backups and manually install alot of apps, but that was just me.

so i just copied and moved the JAVA folder. It is starting to reboot now. I removed my blak n blu theme also app world. Left Storm slider and My verizion. I can't wait to see what this thing can do

How do I confirm the OS took the new files?

It seems to be the same as 5.0.0.140 with less lag when trying to delete emails and little things like that. Just wish the email alerts would work but not a big deal. No lock ups or resets in almost 8 hours I've had it installed.

Off subject, you still in Daytona? I lived there almost 20 years and my family still lives in Ormond
