Thread: Should I go for OS 5.0 on Storm?

should i go for it dl 5.0.0.140 or .154 which one works the best i mean bbm i want at the end of the day to work.

Olga - - .154 was a BUST! Most 3rd party apps did not work plus noone could get BBM to work. Having used .140 for quite some time now, I would recommend d/l that one. good luck

I would caution you however that .140 does not play nice with third party apps. If you can get by without them, then .140 is fine. Also, none of the official BlackBerry apps, such as aim, yahoo, msn, app world, or facebook work currently with the OS. If you are new to using a BlackBerry, I would not recommend that you install this.

hey sun...other than the official apps that you listed i have only found one app that doesn't work on 5.0 and that is berrybuzz.i works but has no sound. all other apps that i have(and i have a crap load) work.

i can only speak for myself and i can say that i am not. the only problems with 3rd party apps are the ones that go through the profiles for sounds...like berrybuzz.

I actually am trying .140 for the first time today, w Lyricidal's v001 hybrid, and I love it...get all the 5.0 features, as far as I kno, and haven't had any reboots at all. Downloaded 5.0 blackburry messenger ota because it didn't load right away. Apps that I'm running all work; Ubertwitter, quickpull free edition, poynt, pandora, stormslider, and opera mini. I have Berrybuzz but heard that it hasn't worked, amd haven't tried it yet. With Lyricidal's fixes I think it works pretty great...might have to keep it!

If you decide to go for 5.0...5.0.0.140 gets my vote whole 100% over .154!!! .154 had a few things messed up like inability to select items on pop up boxes, so made it pretty much useless. I ran 5.0.0.140 since it leaked without major issues. Hope this helps...

.151 w/V8.5 Hybrid is absolutely flawless..Its basicly 5.0.140 w/out any bugs at all. It works extremely smooth and ALL APPS work. The only theme I had issues with was "haloberry"..Everything else is again...FLAWLESS.. BBCman is a genius...try this OS and you won't regret it..(.140 and .154 are WORTHLESS)...Good Luck
