Thread: Issue with installing CM v8

ok i applied updates, restarted now what. i just tried jl cmdr wipe and it restarted phone and ended back with the same reload programs 552. i just took out battery and the phone has a no battery icon

552 not 507 are you sure?

Also did JL connect and preform the wipe?

how are you making out maverick?

Thanks for the suggestion rasputin! he's having issues with BBSAK it doesn't sound like a connection issue though

552, i know about the 507. i really wish it was 507 so i can get back to normal. yes did jl cmdr it wiped , restarted, and back to 552

OK try this

Take your battery out and put it back in when the red led light turns off press and hold the escape key until you see the boot up in safe mode screen. Let me know if that works

I think you are on the right track. I figured I would take a look over at the BB web site and found these instructions as the resolution to app error 552.

"App Error 552" is displayed on the BlackBerry smartphone

1. Verify that BlackBerry Desktop Manager and the current BlackBerry Device Software (for your BlackBerry smartphone) is installed on the computer.
2. Remove the battery from the BlackBerry smartphone.
3. Open BlackBerry Desktop Manager.
4. Connect the BlackBerry smartphone to the computer. Do not insert the battery.
5. Click Application Loader.
6. Under the Update Software heading, click Start.
7. Click Options. This allows you to add or remove applications from the BlackBerry smartphone.
8. Select the applications you want to install.
9. Click Next.
10. Click Next.
11. Click Finish.
12. Once the application load process starts, insert the battery in the BlackBerry smartphone.

have guys I just googled error 552 and it seems that if you just reload your os it should correct the issue. It sounds like a java based error which means something is missing within the os. Try that and see what apploader does.

Did you shrink or hybrid before you loaded it?

sunkast i tried what u found on BB, but if i go to update software there is no app list, there is an os list .65, .75, .148, .151 i select .151 and it says no software update required. .65, .75 says downgrade and .148 says preferred. Tried .148 and says the system apps are older than what is on my device also my pin is still not displayed

Use app loader not DM

Navigate to c-program files-common files-research in motion-app loader and double click the phone icon---it should look like this

your able to wipe with JL_cmdr right?

I would like you to delete all those os's on your pc that might be part of the problem

control panel > add/delete > click remove - so this for every one and the reboot your pc.

You get this using app loader?

Ok go to control panel add/remove programs and tell me what is listed for Blackberry on that list

i have 8 4.7 BB device software, 1 BB desktop software 5.0, 1 BB software updater

You should only have 1 device software and that is the one you want to install. Highlight each one of the device software's and click details, that will give you the OS version. For everyone you don't want installed on your phone delete it.
