Thread: Just re-loaded v8 - have an issue...

I just reloaded v8 and did advanced restore, only restoring a couple of things like address book and calander and a few others...

Now when I try to load my apps I get this:


It comes after I click "browse" and select the .alx file...Help?!

The easiest way is to take the cods from the device folder and place them in the os in loader files and run the apploader again.

Hmm, well when I search for the folder (search pin#) all that comes up are my older app backup files (I had changed the name of these folders by adding an "a" or "b" in front of the name so I wouldn't mix them up)... I can't find the rest of the folder that was created today...

Let me explain: When I created the app backup I found the .alx by itself and put it on my desktop and then canceled everything else in DM device switch function... I thought all I needed was that .alx and the rest would "follow" ???? ...I'm an idiot :banghead:!

I was able to use an older .alx that had the few paid apps I wanted back for now

I'm not sure I know what you mean... you mean the loader file that I use to load the OS? Won't that try and install the OS?

Did you delete the vendor and try therew apploader

I am still trying to figure out how to get weatherbug elite back... I have the registration number but the actual app is lost.

I got it from appworld, maybe there is something else in my backup file that will help appworld recognize my previous downloads? Yes?

Sorry tommy, I should have clarified. If you have already loaded v8 on to your phone, it won't reload the OS because App Loader sees there's no change between your Loader Files (on your PC) and the Files on your phone. App Loader will only reload an OS if it sees you've made a change to the Loader Files.

You can load apps and themes via PC without reloading the OS through App Loader.

Let me know if you have more questions.

I think this where you made your boo boo... You need the folder that the .alx is in as well.

Wow. HUGE lightbulb just popped on :lmao:

I guess no ones ever explained it to me before... but that's what bbc was talkin about too was putting the cod file into the same folder that loader is in (apploader) and then click the loader (phone icon) file to.... ... man I'm so slow sometimes!!! :dunce:

Yea, thats my problem too, with all those old backups still on the pc I didn't even see it... I looked for today's date in the date modified and creation date but even the old ones had today's date (in Windows Explorer)...

EDIT: PROBLEM SOLVED --> I had to re-enter my paypal info and it showed up. (sorry I'm just having a slow day today)

If they were freebie apps, unfortunately you'll have to download them all again.... If they're paid apps, go to My World, BB Button, Log In, enter PayPal details and then wait a minute or 2 for it to retrieve your purchases. That's always worked for me in the past.
