Couple 5.0 things...

So obviously im new to this forum woooo me...but the idea of hacking firmware has been fun to me for well a looooong time..many a consoles have passed through my hands and now I have a storm lol that I've had and been watching these forums in the dark for a couple weeks just to read and learn...even though I have kept upto date on the firmwares never really got into the hybrids until .151 and started playing with mixing and matching myself...eh whatever enough about me who cares right?

Anyway I've been toying with 5.0 not sure if anyone has noticed when taking a picture with the camera zoomed it creates crazy scrambled pictures...which is spanktasticly awesome...not :P anyways on normal 1.0 zoom it works fine but not when you use the zoom feature... anyone have the list to lyricals file breakdown? i wanna try loading 4.7 cam files into 5.0 (and brick my phone again haha so much fun :aargh4:) seeing as dr lou is having fun testing some 4.7 files why not join the paddywagon

Also another bug that is annoying the crap out of me is when i receive any type of message other then a bbm...in otherwords, email, sms, mms, pin. I have a new message indicator but they do not show up in the deticated icon/shortcut, the only way to see/access them is through blackberry button > view folders > 'specified folder' which is becoming a pain but alas i can live lol...my question is does anyone know how to create a shortcut to the message folder file tree? that would be nifty eh? but eh i dunno i might try switching the .cods from OOAKDPC's for messaging being as mms from .151 didnt work and well I dunno where im going with this...haha I guess if someone could gime the link to lyricals cod breakdown i would be estatic....cause im only human and could miss a file pffft....nah im kidding im just lazy and dont wanna rack my brain tying to figure out which cods are linked for messaging....

so anyway sorry for rambling....its like 4am...and im bored and have horrible punctuation and grammar at the moment, but frankly i dont give a damn haha jk...yall are cool...my heroes...i think...i hope...later

2 workarounds for your issues:

1. In camera options, set picture size to medium (1024x768). That resolves the problem of scrambled pictures at zooms above 1.0.

2. The problem with notificatioons usually happens with custom themes. Switch back to the default Precision Zen, do a battery pull, and the problem should be resolved.

My personal take after bricking my phone for an entire day and sweating it out because somehow I was in an endless reboot 523 error with only a 1-2 second window to start the wiping process. DON'T mess with the 5.0 files, there seems to be some sort of connection between the files and the the radio (I think).

If it were possible we would have hybrids by now but I think we will not see any with this 140 OS for quite some time.

aye, thanks for the tip on the camera....and yea lol already messed with it and bricked my phone four times...i dunno haha sorry alwaya thought screwing with shit was fun...thats why i helped write xbox media center when xbox came out...because it was something different....anyway ill do some digging on my own...shame someone gets shot down because of their post number...ill figure it out and let you know how it works.

..and as far as asking the builder? all of the cod filename structure is the same through out 4.7 and obviously the latest builds of hybrids have the best of all worlds....and as far as it seems this is a open source driven community so taking files from one to another shouldnt be breaking any copy right, especially since the file structure is completely open with no third party software to extract the rom....i mean thats all everyone else is doing, is finding files reading through the cod and testing the switch....anyways forget i mentioned anything

my question is there a way to use the old 5.0 bold files to balance out the new storm files.. cause we could use them b4 the recent leak.. so maybe thats the bridge needed?

I would like to take a second to let you know that our community of members here want nothing more than to help with your issues. I think that we were trying to give you a headsup so to speak about trying to use the 5.0 OS files to create hybrids. So others here may not have realized how experienced you seem to be with your device capabilities.

i am not a hybrid builder even considered knows what i am doing. but, last time i tried to load the tour's files into the storm's 5.0, it works. not all of them, i took the .40 files out of ooakpc's about 20 something and it was all loaded up and works just fine. but, the 5.0 just wouldn't do for me.

right now, i am using my own mixed and match of 4.7.0.164/4.7.1.40/5.0.0.140. it seems to be holding up the memory 43 meg for half a day now, and it seems to be having the ability to refresh the memory from unused files.

so, please if you want to try to mix and match, just follow those who has succeeded. do it slowly, it feels nicer...

thanks for the welcome lol......you know it would probably help if i tore the bug report.cod apart leaked with .140 and rewrote part of it to send back through usb instead of over secured connection...might help with association of which files are causing problems (app load 200 aka super brick)....

which might help with narrowing down usable and unusable files if your loading multiple files at once instead of one at a time...make hybrid building alot faster...im gonna look into this
