Actually I thought the opposite, at first of course you love it, but just wait till your phone keeps rebooting, of course every phone is different but mine ran like a champ for almost a week then just started rebooting and doing funky stuff

I am also having other errors with the phone portion of the 5.0 OS. It was fine when I first installed it, but over the last couple of days, I am getting blank white screens on incoming calls and the phone portion freezes. When I try to close the phone screen I get JAVA error that says out of memory, but when I check the app memory it is in the 40's. The only way to correct this is to batt pull...until I do, I can't make or recceive calls.

The error message reads " Uncaught exception:java.lang.OutOfMemoryError"

This one will be the deal-breaker for me if I can't solve it... Please help

Just a thought maddog....Have you been able to see any of your call logs lately?
Do you typically run through the call log list to delete unwanted listings?

If not, possibly look into deleting some of these call logs. I cannot verify that this will fix your issue it is just that your device may be wanting to write to the call log and it may not be able to.

Hey Randy,
Not very many apps here my friend. Capture it, BBFilescout, SimpleWeather, BBM 5.0. I think that's it. Stock Zen Theme as well. My reboot instances have stemmed from trying to type. Either in BBM or posting via mobile device to BBOS, SMS. Seems like the moment I would start to type, the white screen flashes, then instantaneously the reboot. It is very random as well. No rhyme or reason. Typically, I like to try and recreate the instance. With this however, I cannot.

An interesting thought about the call logs... I may have just stumbled on the answer. Under options from the phone screen I opened Call Logging. I was set to show missed calls in the message list. I changed the setting to None, and the stuck indicator disappeared. Now I have to see if I get any notification of a missed call when it occurs...

I tried to test that theory... but all I got was the blank white screen again when it rang and the java error again...I'm about ready to give up...

I'm wondering if I should reload the OS...if something possibly has been corrupted...

Anyone have any thoughts on possible file corruption? Or has anyone else had the problems with the phone part of the 5.0 OS ?

That may not be a bad idea maddog. What if you just did a security wipe. Have you had this issue the entire time with the 5.0 OS?

That's the weird thing.... the first few days were smooth as can be. Then Tuesday it went haywire on me.

Is the security wipe within the OS? I think I remember seeing that somewhere. If I do that will I have to reload the OS after that is completed?

I apologize for the untimely response. A security wipe will simply remove the user settings on the OS. You will keep the current OS that is on the device.

Does anyone have a problem with BBMaps? I can use BBMaps and connect to GPS (see dot for "you are here" and my traveling speed) but no map. I was able to see a map the very first time I used this app after installing the OS but lost it as soon as I zoomed in for street view and haven't been able to get it back. I'm on Tmobile & have the service books.

Yes maddog that is a fix I found early on. I'll give you another for instances where you may not be able to have the mail notifier leave your homescreen.

Select Messages>>Options>>General Options:
Under the heading Display Message Count, set to None

This would be the first of this instance that I have seen. I will need to search for a fix if there is one.
Have you been able to zoom in th street levels on previous OS's?

Anytime maddog,

I'm still very curious to see what may be causing your issue withe the device error:

Uncaught exception:java.lang.OutOfMemoryError

I'm sure others have seen it. Hope to hear a reply about that one.

I did not have the ability to use BBMaps at all (no icon)with previous OS's even though I had the service books... (used the books that were pushed by Tmobile & not downloaded as a part of the BBMaps & MMS fix zipped file). Tried the BBMap and MMS fix under other OS's as well but no fix on the map end.
