i have 2 questions about 5.0

1. does the mute button switch profiles from normal to vibrate and vice versa when holstered?

2. can you pull up the keyboard by moving your finger up over the bar while web browsing?

Also, Is anyone experiencing heavy battery drainage with 5.0. When I first installed it I didn't have an issue with that, but now I do. I am going to uninstall all of my 3rd party apps and reinstall. I added some apps that I did not usually have live Vlingo and Scoremobile. Other than that I am only running Pandora, Youmail, Poynt, PRoTranslate, Meterberry, Quickpull, BBFilescout, Buzzme and CaptureIt.

From the page where all your icons are listed, press the BB button, then options. This is where that is located.

The other day when I was still running 5.0 a very weird thing happened. My phone wouldn't stop vibrating.. LOL. I thought it was quite funny after awhile, it wasn't doing anything and it was just vibrating like crazy, had to do a battery pull after couple mintues

I would think RIM may want to make that a permanent feature!

Reading today, it appears that people are becoming happier with 5.0. I installed it and lost my BBM. Couldn't find BBM 5.0 to download anywhere so reverted to.151. ( Was there any way to make the 4.7 version of BBM5 work? ) I love the app transitions that I saw on OS 5.0 and also the app list layout. The way you can adjust home screen layout from options... Well the list goes on and on. I just use BBM A LOT and couldn't afford not to have it installed.

Anyone think its worth trying to install 5.0 again? Can you point me to a tutorial that someone who had ( In the imortal words of Borat ) "Great success" has posted ?

Before I end my rambling, i need to say.... This is the absolute BEST Blackberry forum I have found. I've looked at a lot of them as I am addicted to my Storm. The group of people on this site are the most patient and sharing group I've seen. You all seem just as interested in the success of others as that of your own. To all of you THANK YOU...THANK YOU... THANK YOU.

yes,it is worth trying again and no the 5.0BBM for 4.7 won't work.this is the one you need.

yes it is a OTA installation. load 5.0 os(don't forget to delete the RIM tools from your computer prior to loading to your phone) then browse to the link via BB browser and download 5.0 BBM.

My apologies if this has been already asked, but i did attempt to search without result.
It seems that I am having a problem with one of the mesage indicators on OS 5.0.0.140. SMS, BBM, E-mail, Voicemail all seem to work correctly and disappear after I have read or opened the corresponding message or item....With the exception of a missed call. If i miss a call, there is an entry in the messages folder and an entry in the phone folder. Even if I open and read or even delete these entries, the indicator does not disappear. I am running the stock theme, so this should not be a theme issue. It acts like there is another entry somewhere, but I'll be da**ed if i can find it....

Has anyone else experienced this or solved it?

Give this fix a try. I know there's a second fix posted somewhere too.
