Crackmans Hybrid v2 has been released a little early to the V.I.P members. Any questions / problems / findings can be posted in here.

This will be released to members tomorrow at this time (130ish EST)

I'm downloading currently. How will I know if I got it downloaded correctly if the platform and everything else reads the same?

Remember everyone, make sure you read the included readme that BBC has included with your download.

It will be the same platform as before.

since you are already running the hybrid v.1, follow the first part of BBC's instructions in the readme

Here they are if you are already running the hybrid v.1

Installation instructions if you are already running the Hybrid:

Extract the file

1. Rt click on extracted file 9530-v4.7.0.114_P4.0.0.143, click copy

2. Go to Loader Files (C:/ program files/ common files/ research in motion/ shared/ loader files/)

rt click and paste, yes to overwrite

3. Up 2 levels to C:/ program files/ common files/ research in motion/ apploader/ delete vendor.xml

4. Same folder double click Loader.exe (looks like a phone)

5. Yes to downgrade

6. Back Up

7. Choose your apps you want installed

8. Verify installation

9. Finish

Thanks guys. I'll let you know how it turns out. I was pretty pleased with first hybrid and continue to hope for more.

I take it we do not need the files on the outside of the Java & CDMA. I'm guessing those are from his phone and we just use ours...right?

ya works good so far, we'll see within the next 24 hours how it holds up...but the camera is definitely better for me, i have always had a problem...to me the accelerometer is about the same as the first one, and rest seems fairly responsive....but like i said we'll see in the next 24 hours to watch mem leak and battery drainage

you will use the whole folder, see directions above or in the readme file you got

So far it seems faster , camera definatly better , memory leak slower , more responsive so far, but will have to wait a day or so to see how it reacts.

looks like this the same as before newer mods

ok ready to install, but i have no vendor.xml file. is that because i deleted it in v1? or did crackman delete it already in v2? i do have device.xml.

my vendor was gone too, your good to continue...don't touch the device.xml though

My branding version is different. I have 1.0.105.126

if you have already installed another os via the loader (not DM) and have deleted vendor.xml before then its not going to be there. with the v2 hybrid your not even touching the apploader folder besides for the loader.exe, so if its not there and have deleted it before your good

ya the os is still the same so weather u use v1 hybrid or just the 4.7.0.114 leak or the v2 hybrid it will say 4.7.0.114

mine says .210, so they are probably different from device to device

app/platform are whats important...that and that it works of course

As far as memory and battery. I have that new ascii theme 2.0 running on my phone. I installed this hybrid and have not charged my phone in over 24 hours and im still good! Memory is in the middle 40's. Been sitting there for a while now. and i have not done any battery pulls yet. All in all, this is the best one! Another job well done from the crackman himself. Now he can rest for a bit :-p
