    RIM internal Tools java folder

I had this posted but deleted it on accident so I figured I would just make a new thread. I was messing around today when I noticed that folder has its own java. In that java are things for the browser, theme, secureemail, quincy, batt log, media player, ringtones, video...etc etc.

My question for people here (like BBC or Lyri) if we copied in the folder everything but the quicy.cod's and there is one 8330.cod?? and the branded.cod, would this maybe fix some of the problems we are seeing? Or has this been disscussed?

I don't know if this fixes any problems on the phone as I think they are deeper in the build than this but I deleted this folder before installing the OS because quincy is like E.T. (if you remember) it wants to phone home with information about your device including your GPS location.

What I found most interesting and have been working on is the TMO backup tool. I want to know what that is. It would be nice if it was a way to backup your info to the SD card.

I think the title is fine. And there are no bad vibes here. We are all on the quest for knowledge. , and that is a trip better spent with others.

P.S. if you did not remove the RIMinternal folder prior to installing the new OS. you will need to perform a complete wipe otherwise Quincy is on your phone and will send an email to RIM.

Jnepsa, remove rim internal tools from add/remove programs and the Quincy will disappear. Safest, best way to guarantee that those spy suckers are gone.

okay I was able to read part of the Tmobile backup cod, and it is a tool to backup the settings on the device,

It backs up fav contacts, browser settings, phone settings, email settings, and address book.

That's a nice feature! A lot easier than connecting up to DM I guess. I wonder if it is for internal use only or if it will be a 5.0 feature?

When I saw that folder my first thought was that it was a way for RIM to follow the statistics of things like battery life etc...

I may be off, but that was my opinion.

that Tmobile comment was actually for P3, regarding his question on his TMO post. quoted the wrong person.
