Thread: Browser files

Hi-

I installed 5.0.0.140, but too many apps that are a necessity to me did not work...primarily Google Sync. I went back to BBC's 7.4.1. The biggest plus for me with 5.0.0.140 was the browser, but I was not completely sold on its speed. I realize that this sounds like the hybrid business, but can anyone tell me which files are necessary for the browser?

No one has reported which files yet. But I'm sure if you wait a few days BBCrackman will have a hybrid out.

I can tell you the exact list of files, but people that have tried mixing 5.0 with .151 bricked their phone....so please be very careful...

Ok, check my post above....I just added the images with list...

Check the OS folder where you installed from. Also, if you need the files, lyou can PM me your email address and I will send them...because I have them in a zipped folder

You will also need the net_rim_xml.cod and net_rim_xml_org.cod.

I dont recommend installing the complete browser from 140. You will get app error 200 and you will have to wipe your device to load an operational OS.

Thanks bbc!!! I know my folder has more files than what shows up on device under browser modules. Don't know why......so thanks for letting us know.

I recommend not mixing 5.0 files with 4.7 at this point. I bricked my phone in a BAD way yesterday trying it. Unless you have a lot of free time and don't mind bricking

Google Sync works fine for me on 5.0.0.140 did you set all to allow and disable comptability mode?

3rd party back up my man...from my .alx...if i knew how to share I would

only certain browser files will work - i have a build Im using now with 5.0.0.140 browser files, but they don't add Tabbed browsing or any of the other new featuers
I believe quite a bit is platform/radio (4.2 platform for 5.0) related and therefore we wont see it working 100% on a 4.7 build (4.0 platform)

No need. I can do a backup and get it. I'm back on 151 right now. I apreciate the offer though. This is good news for me. It was the main reason I dumped 5.0
