Thread: 9530 5.0.0.140 Findings and Fixes

Un checking the box for the downgrade of BBM only unistall BBM from the device and I was not able to install BBM 5.0 onto my device upon first try. I am currently installing BBM 4.7 back onto my device. After this I will add the java back overtop of the 4.7 BBM by using DM to find the .alx extension.

I'll report back with my findings

Edit: 4.7 installed back onto device correctly. Now to install the .alx extension of BBM 5.0 over BBM 4.7

anyone else having issues with this build. i have lost my browser and bmm. any thoughts? i am about to do a totally wipe, removal and reinstall hopefully that helps!

Seems like people are having mixed opinions on speed of the browser.

I did an OTA update from the stormota.com link and all went well.

Have you tried re-download on BBM 5.0?
I am currently attempting it through the DM.

that is correct, I tried the 4.7 which didn't work and I also tried coping the the zip files into the java folder and that didn't work either.

Same here manofice...I only hope the link holds up long enough for me to configure my device. Thank you

can someone help me get my BBM back? I loaded the 5.0 OS fine, then I downloaded the BBM via OTA. It is showing in my applications list but I do not have the icon?? I am at a loss.

You need to install the BBM 5.0 (OS 5.0 Version) - English

Don't use the one that says Storm!

interesting...i installed the 5.0 OS, and opened DM to back everything up....it told me there was an update, and updated my phone to 5.0....all from the initial prompt....

Any other ideas on this?? My browser is gone too, and I registered the host routing table already. Received the blackberry registration message. If I use the quick launch to open the browser the blackberry just freezes up. I'm preforming a factory reset now (with BBSAK), hopefully that works.

BBM 5.0 shows up on the applications list, but not on the home screen. Will give OTA a download shot.
