Thanks bbcrackman. I did what I was suggested. Now the my blackberry is very slow compared prior to fixing the keyboard and the color. I have already performed the battery pull. No success. Please advise.

The file you replaced is actually the core part of the systen, the file is a slower version of the OS. If you like the speed and responiveness. I would reccommend going back. The reason I chose the file I did was because I wanted the speed and stability. The one that is replaced to get the color banding issue corrected is less stable and can cause reboots as well as the dreaded VSOD not to mention it is slower. Just a suggestion....

Thanks for the clarification. Had I known this issue I would have not done what I have done. I definitely like the speed and responiveness. So please tell me how I go back to my previous status.

Not on hybrid. I am on .109 and it is installed on the PC except for the fact that I have now downloaded and extracted the RAR file to fix the color and keyboard issue.

You need to install the cdma folder from .109 back into 109. that would have been the folder you replaced

    No worries harrypotter2009
The best thing to do is to re-install your 109, a message will pop up asking you if you want to repair or remove. Choose repair. Then go into your loader program C:/program files/common files/apploader and delete the vendor.xml file. In the same folder is the loader.exe (looks like a phone) double click that. Follow the prompts, if you have questions just post. And we will be here to help

OK. Now I have reprogrammed my Storm the way you suggested and it is much faster. I have a bigger issue now. I have noticed that my contacts are now replaced with my groupwise address book (only email addresses) and I cannot find phone numbers of my contacts the way I saved them. Please help.

It'll be so NICE when/if we finally get OpenGL ES support..... then we can have our color depth AND our responsiveness.....

    - Download the file here.
    - The file is in a RAR format so you must extract it. Extract the file to your OS CDMA folder.

    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Shared\Loader Files\9530-v4.7.0.109_P4.0.0.136\CDMA

If you are running .106 then you would go into your .106 CDMA folder.

Plug your phone in, run your loader.exe from APP loader folder and you will want to "DOWNGRADE" because you are using an older file. Click next then let your phone load and you are done.

you can just download the whole os and install, then take the .90 sfi file out of the cdma folder and save it to somewhere you can find it. Uninstall .90 and reinstall the OS youre using. Rt click on the 90 sfi file/copy then go to your C:/program files/ common files/ research in motion/ shared/ loader files/ your os/ cdma folder/ rt click and paste, yes to overwrite.

Then go to you loader.exe in the apploader file and reinstall the os, yes to downgrade.

here is the link to 4.7.0.90

its the long way around for the moment
