    It sure does corey!

    welcome to Blackberryos

.151 just rocks! if you want a little more juice V4.1.4 adds alot of the unreleased to the storm 5.0 files.

If your feeling like a total revamp you can add BBM 5.0 as well.

make sure your sitting down when you first open it....quite a bit better then .122

If you get stuck along the way just ask...lots of peeps here willing to help

What are the biggest differances between straight OS .151 and BBC's Hybrid? Thinking about loading the hybrid, but was curious if I would really notice a big differance. Thanks!

I'm running this hybrid for 5 days now and everything was good but I just used BBmaps for the first time and found that it took a lot of time to have my position and even worst, I'm off my real position for about 1000 feet. Is anyone have the same problem? I tried to find a solution before posting this but maybe I haven't try hard enough. Can someone help me on this?

Talking A Tale of Two Users in one person, my findings on BBCrackmans V7.1.4-.151 Findings -

A Tale of Two Users in one person, my findings on BBCrackmans V7.1.4-.151 Findings - GOOD STUFF!

I use my phone almost like I am two users. Work me, and Off Work me. (Hope that makes sense.) I have run this hybrid since last Tuesday, July 14th. This is my comparison to a straight .151 shrunk install:

(install notes- device wiped bbcrack suggested way followed up jlcmdr before installed. Hybrid was also shrunk before install, and 3 battery pulls after backup and bes have been restored. )

Here is what I found both ways-

    Work User-

As many users I use my storm on a BES, with tons of phone calls, web browsing, GPS, Appts, Tasks, calendar, memos, emails, bbm, text and mms, twitter, facebook and so on. I run a ton of programs, and a theme.

Battery Life: Very good- Ranging from 4.9 usage per hour to as high as 7 with heavy use on my 1600 mAH Battery

Memory- Great. Best I have ever seen. Lowest I got all week was 18 mb. But was on average around 25mb all week before I loaded the bbm 5.0 and was forced to do a battery pull. (started up around 42mb on Tuesday, when I reset on Friday evening was around 22mb.)

(I am a strong believer of a daily battery pull with my storm, but with BES/Firewall, 151 beta os and the battery pull programs/functions like quick pull, meter-berry and quick launch having issues.(( they don’t like each other.)) ), you actually have to pull the battery out. And well I was being lazy all week and did not pull my battery

Web Browsing- VERY FAST. Opera is even faster. Best browsing to date imo

Transitions and less color banding- very cool feature + a sweet theme, makes me a happy man. My phone looks SWEET!

Spinning Clock- haven’t seen much. Only time I really did see it when I had like 7 things going at one time, and then only saw it for only 3 seconds or less.

My only problem I think have with the build is that the accelerometer is bit slower then I like. Not a big deal but just something I noticed.

    Day Off User –

I was waiting for today to really test out the multi-media functions of my storm and I had time this morning at my daughter swim meet. (nothing like sitting around for 5 hours, to watch your kid swim for 10 minutes tops. Kinda nice to just chill)

Video/Movies- Thanks to videos4blackberry.info, I am catching up on Weeds right now. Worked perfectly without issue. Very Nice. Also put on office space for a bit and looked SWEET!

Music- Worked just like it should. Both the built in player and slacker worked great and sound oh so good. Love how bbm updates what song you are listening to on the built in player.

Messaging- (text, mms, twitter, facebook) worked just like it should.

Web Browsing- VERY FAST. Opera is even faster.

Memory- started this morning around 37mb. End around 24mb. Note I was multi tasking like crazy. Facebook, opera, ubber-twitter, bbm, and stacker, along with the normal 5 that always run. Just rocked it out. VERY NICE!

Spinning Clock- haven’t seen much. Only time I really did see it when I had like 7 things going at one time, and then only saw it for only 3 seconds or less.

Battery Life: I used my phone this morning for almost 4 hours in a row. started at about 92%. Finshed @ 32%. I expect to use that much battery when i use a electronic item that long. hell, last longer then my laptop and portable dvd would ever last.

With that being said, like above, the only problem I think have with the build is that the accelerometer is bit slower then I like. Not a big deal but just something I noticed.

To Summarize, I will quote bryan who said-

If you want to run fast and the way I think the storm should run, this is the hybrid for you. Nice job BB!

The .151 Straight OS is so much nicer! Noticed an immediate improvement.

    Now for this hybrid.

I'm confused on how to install this. I've opened the installer I downloaded, which extracted the files to the Commonfiles/Reseach in Motion/Shared/Loader Files directory. But then what?

I've browsed the forum for a specific howto on the hybrid but haven't seen one yet.

Thank you again for any tips you can give me

    Cheers

    Corey
