Wow.... interesting thread.
I strongly suggest dropping Viigo & BB App World.
Those puppies are major memory vampires!
I'd also loose Docs to go... especially if you're not using it on a daily basis.

Thanks, Rell. Just like our Lions have not been built for maximum win realization. But all that will change. "Stafford to Megatron!!!!!"Originally Posted by Rellims
Seriously, like others have said, unless you are locking or clocking, all is well. And a scheduled daily reset is a way of life.

Well I'm still holding @ ~31mb on boot-up and over 24hrs mid-20s to mid-teens. I use Viigo, so I'm reluctant to off load that app. Now Docs-to-Go on the other hand may get cut - not sure... Thanks for all of the advice guys & girls - most appreciated.

To get into the high 40's or low 50's you would have to remove some apps. The reason for this is that apps take up app memory(hence app memory). But if you only drop 10mb's doring the day you really have nothing to worry about. I boot up at 52.4 and by the end of the day or next morning I am at 37mb's. So in reality you are obtaining better performance based on what you have loaded. My recommendation; don't worry about it unless its causing you issues.
With BBC's new hybrid I boot at 48.5 and It has been dropping like a rock at the end of the day to 46.5! It's time to throw this piece of crab against the wall and get a Palm, JUST KIDDING this is the most stable my memory has ever been.....Power to the people and BBC reigns supreme!!!
Dr Lou is so correct. Dont worry about the memory if your phone is working. I run a tons of programs also and my phone works like a champ. I use all the programs and thats the point of having a blackberry. to use it @ 100%, gps, video, email, web browsing, twitter, facebook, streaming radio. I want it to do it all and it does. GO for max use...

As others have noted....don't worry about the number unless you are noticing a decline in performance.
On the other hand, you haven't mentioned 3rd party themes....these often can wreak havok on the memory management capabilities of these devices, regardless of the OS on board...and even if they are inactive. So, if you're carrying a bunch of third party themes and you don't use them, delete from the device. Sorry you deleted the original Zen theme...we've all done that at least once and suffered the consequences! Glad you're back and running.

Looking through the "theme" forums on this site, I have downloaded 3 in addition to the one that came with my storm (I really like that "official bbos" one). How many do you think is too many to keep on the phone?

I appreciate the info. I rarely look at the memory but was just curious that I may be messing something up having too many. I am having so much fun with this thing

I usually run in the mid 30's on rebooting - by the end of the day I may be in the low teens. I have yet to notice a significant difference in speed or smoothness even when I have several programs open at once. Was initially worried about the number but then realized it wasn't having an appreciable bearing on the phone function. I like having a lot of programs available - news, weather, work (drug formularies, .....).
how do i delete the sample pics? They're all locked and I can't seem to figure out how to unlock.
fftopic: But, Stafford isn't the savior when the Lions can't play defense against the run or the pass, and have a weak offensive line.... I'll give you that you have a solid receiving corps (I would love to see one of the Lions' receivers on the Bears), but when you can't block and can't rush the passer and can't defend the run or the pass, you are not gonna win games!.....

You can do it with either maxmem which is mentioned above, or with shrink an os.Originally Posted by quiet1
