How are you guys getting the screen shots of your phones? I would show my impressive 28mb after a batt pull. what irritates me even more is that you shouldn't have to do a battery pull just to get the damn phone to work correctly. I did a battery pull about an hour ago and am down to 11mb free now. I havent tried to remove apps yet but that'll be my next step. any other suggestios?
a program called captureit. CaptureIt, Here is another: bbscreenshooter From Third Party Apps Thread
that is an OTA download, after you do it from your phone and say ok to the last question, go into your Downloads folder. and you will see it there.
you can move it to your home folder, or set it as your left or right convenience key.
i have it set as my left one, it comes in handy when you want to take a screen shot for someone

Yeah, that was i was going to just suggest too, If the memory issue continues after that, you may want to consider replacing it.
I know of a couple that have had that problem and a replacement device was working properly with the normal amount of memory loss.
Good luck.

[QUOTE=Neolantis;225]unfortunately, a battery pull is a normal way of life for a Blackberry...
Seriously?????
Thanks for the screen capture. that works great!! As im sure you can all tell, Im quite green when it comes to the BB. sorry. you guys are great.
[QUOTE=mr1911;231]You can also use an app called "Quick Pull" it simulates a battery pull with out actually having to pull the battery
[QUOTE=mr1911;231]Seriously, to a point...you may have some days that you do it 2-3 times maybe more, but other days will be nothing.
I haven't pulled my battery in about 2 weeks. I have 25.3 free. for me that is low, but it obviously works hand in hand with the last reset.
Don't worry too much about free memory, it's not as important as others make it out to be...It is good to have but not the end all, crap your pants, freak out that some talk about.
If your BB is drag ass slow then worry, otherwise you'll be fine.
OH, and thank you for the compliment.![]()

OK. now THATS funny!!!!!! 2-3 times a day. your hilarious.
I hear what your saying about if the phone works, then leave it. I have been checking the mem constantly to see whats happening with it and have noticed that I went from 11mb an hour ago, to 18mb after surfing the web, and now im at 8.5. but its working fine, so whatever. im still getting to know this phone (got it for christmas) and am trying to figure out why its "drag ass slow" some days and others its not so slow. I've never found this thing to be quick by any stretch.
Quick pull is a piece of junk. I've been using it for a while and (i should say trying to use it) its flaky. half the time it doesn't work and just goes into space. there must be something better.
I'll stop wasting your time on this topic. but thanks for all the advice.
never a waste of time...ask anytime. That's why we're here.![]()

You actually have to make some setting changes to get it to work correctly
Options>Advanced Options>Applications> Highlight "Phone" do not click>BB button> Edit permissions and allow all.
You may also while youre in the applications highlight Quick Pull> BB button and disable compatibility mode. If you want to use it

Hey guys, i just checked mine, i had 29mb, then i went into Visual Voicemail and deleted 5 of the voicemails, and im now at 32mb.
And boy was the BB crawwwwwwling!! It was taking about 10 seconds just for the screen to switch from landscape to portrait! I think it was a couple weeks that I had not done a battery pull (got busy, lazy, or both). But I just did it and I am back up to 41MB now.
I do use the screen lock a lot, whenever I am not using the phone. So I am suspecting that the screen lock is leaking memory or something. If I turn the lock on and off I can actually see some memory that was eaten up!
I am going to upgrade to .109 when I get time and see if I notice the same thing.
Geez, they should have designed an Ejector Button or a trigger on these things so we can fire the battery out a few times a day!![]()
That makes sense...voicemails can be big if people ramble on
If your looking to bring up the free mem. I personally would use the normal lock with the call lock for phone calls.
Don't forget they have quick pull for the device to keep from pulling the damn cover off![]()

I am using the original normal lock on the phone. But if it is locked all day and I don't use the phone I noticed some memory loss. Not sure if that is just a coincidence or what.
I do know that the lock in verison .99 behaves differently than the one that was originally in version .75 though (when the phone was brand new). Because in version .75 if I pressed the SCREEN when locked it would come on with a window that said it was locked. Now in verison .99 the screen just stays black until I unlock it or press one of the keys at the bottom... pressing the screen has no effect. I like that better actually. But who knows if their updated lock routine has any memory leakage.![]()
