Thread: Help with Hybrids

Hi, I need some help.

I have never had this problem before because verizon didn't release and update in forever, so the leak of 148 was the only one I had that I installed. Of course .75 and .76 were still in there but app loader always went to the 148. Now that they have I am running into all types of problems and I can't seem to fix it.

So my DM automatically downloaded 148 the other night. I already had a version of 148 on my lappy and it was a hybrid. However, when the new one downloaded I guess it over took the hybrid one.

So when I pull up DM it shows two different 148's but it says they are both current.

I try to install 90 into the cdma file and 7.1.3 using the auto extractor that is it set up on. All seems to go well except when I try to install it on my phone. It continues to install regular 148.

how do I get rid of the auto downloaded 148. and 75 and 76 if I wanted?
And if I understand this correctly when the 148 75 and 76 are on dm they don't necessarily have the java and cdma folder in the shared folder. Where are they getting the information from to load the phone?:grumpy:

I am running 4.7.0.37

Have you verified that the device software is not loaded on your PC? Use control panel > add/remove programs. Post results and we'll continue...

I have removed everything using add/remove programs, but 75, 76 and 148 still show up in DM

Ok u said u have both on ur laptop top right? Ok go to DM/applications/update software. Then click the second 148 and click it. Let it do it course. It may promp for downgrade click yes. Then hit options.then you should see system software. Highlight it then click details then modules. You should see different OS like net rim browser 151. That's your hybrid OS then press next and load. If that's not it do the same for the other 148 let me no if works.

I am on DM4.6 but I believe you can disable auto updates on 4.7. Have you noticed this feature? Also, try connecting your BB to DM with your internet connection turned off. This should prevent those builds from showing up.

ohh, Ok I am going to disconnect from the internet and then look and see what is in there. If that works I will reload my 148 and make it a hybrid again.

Unfortunately with 4.7 you cannot disable auto updates once it is installed. YOu can only do so by either reinstalling it completely or running DM.exe file and choosing the repair/modify function.

That would be worth removing and reinstalling IMO. I hate auto-updates :boggled:

Yeah it's def annoying. Most people miss removing that option when installing 4.7. They kind sneak the disable option in there so you kind of have to watch for it.

Yep I agree one of the first things I did was disable auto update on 4.7 and then again on 5.0.8

That worked!!
I always read those posts to disconnect from the internet but since I didn't have a 148 other than the leaked one I never had to worry about it.

I really appreciate your help and walking me through those steps. :hail:
