Thanks to everyone for all your help...my problem was when adding in the language input I had forgotten to do the steps outlined on the first page of the thread. Needed the 3 files forgot who gave us that once I did that it was smooth sailing

so how'd you do it, with only 3 files or with multiple languages and cut the fat off

I'M BAAAAAACK...Device is running with V7.1.2 with Greek inputs and i got my BBM back...cool stuff thanks again to all those that helped :You_Rock_Emoticon::fing02::hail:

If i remember correctly there was chinese input support when I was looking through the languages, but i am not sure when i get back to the machine i will check give me 10 min?

only font support for chinese in mine....sorry no input available. I will keep looking...

is there a way to do this on the curve.. its funny i posted a thread about lang setup and i cannot find the language thing for thw curve anywhere. and i too am looking for the greelang.. thx in advance. i have read and re read this entire thread im not understanding what im looking for.. a) because im half rertarted on sundays, and b) cause when its not put in DUH terms i dont get it booooo thanx again for any 1 willing to offer assistance

curve huh? i dunno will check it out...just wondering about the keyboard...on storm when i switch the language i get a keyboard with greek letters...kind a hard with a physical keyboard but if it's out there i have supreme confidence someone will figure it out. If not it's probably not possible, but don't quote me on that. give me a few days work is going to be crazy for a few days.

I will look into the curve as well.. Don't own a curve so I won't be able to test it but I can build one for sure.

Can you tell me which operating system that you know of which supported greek?

I don't see why we can't try the storm files on a curve if we have to.

I'm off for a few days so i'll start on these tomorrow.

But yeah if you can find the os it'll save me some time.

After talking to del bobo today I think we can eliminate quite a few files....

Hopefully use some newer ones as well

I've tried several ways, but all failed.
1. copy relevant Chinese language files from 4.7.114 to Telus 4.7.122 or VW 4.7.148, or any other Hybrids, doesn't work. 2. switch the whole java folder of 9500 East Asia 4.7.122 with the java folder of Telus 9530 North American 4.7.122, doesn't work. 3. switch the cdma folder of 9500 East Asia 4.7.122 with the cdma folder of Telus 4.7.122, doesn't work.Now I'm using 4.7 114 + crackman's V3. (I tried to use V3.5, but it dosen't have Chinese language input support.) It seems all OS after 4.7.114 don't support Chinese language input, though they are all under the name of 'Multilanguage version'.
Am I right? or maybe I was doing sth. wrong?

so .122 is out. it supports less then .109. I'm going to look into maybe some bold or curve files for chinese. I read somewhere that rim hasn't released chinese for the storm because they dont have a large enough carrier over there yet..

DOES ANYONE KNOW OF A DEVICE OR OS THAT SUPPORTS CHINESE?

del bobo, you said you can't get sms looks like your right on that I would suggest maybe trying to write your note in memopad in greek and see if it will cut and paste. I dont' see any files for sms input

just checkin in on any thing cor the curve.. thx again every 1 for the help thus far

It's really a great news! I just finished the work following the instruction. Now my storm has the latest OS 151 + Lyric's 151/150 hybrid +Shrink A OS with Chinese Language input support. The phone works perfect now. Meanwhile, I think it's not just good news for people looking for the Chinese input support, but also for those who seeking other languages input support as reference.

Did you do install hybrid first and then add in the language files? i have V7.1.2 installed on mine with greek and i dont want to lose the greek? Or did you add language files first and then hybrid? lmk

This is excellent stuff - I will be try adding a language feature to Shrink-A-OS to make it easier to do this for future releases
if you want your language added, PM me with the latest OS your language was working on and the 2 letter abreviation for it (Sorry, I don`t know them all)
