download V7.1 to pc and install over .148
Delete the vendor file
the launch loader

Sounds like DM is messing with you. Delete your OS from your PC. The reinstall DM and choose repair this should reinstall any missing files. If that doesn't work fully delete DM and reinstall it.

hmm repairing my DM now, after that I should reinstall .148 and go from there right?

unplug from the internet

First make sure the Loader.exe icon is installed. Then yes, reinstall 148 and go from there.

Yes reinstall 148 to your PC. Then just to be sure go to C:/Program Files/Common Files/Research In Motion/Shared and you will see the loader file. This file is created once you install the first RIM OS.

Thanks for clarifying BBC. I thought Loader.exe was created when you installed DM. Good to know.

Loader.exe is created when you install the DM the Loader Files are created when you install the OS. You were right

Still can't shrink this OS. What the hell is wrong with this thing.

So after you make your selections and select shrink my and get the confirmation box, then you launch loader from the program what is it saying to you?

It says OS shrunk. I go to the java file and see that everything that I didn't want is now in the removed file. I delete the removed file just to make sure that it won't get downloaded. I then go back to the shrink an OS window and click the launch button. it goes thru the whole download process and then when it's done I click the close button. I check my phone and and the sample pics and music are still there. This has never happened before. I might just go to Lyricidal's hybrid because this is really pissing me off. It's a shame because BBC hybrids work great on my phone but this is ridiculious.
