it worked fine before v7.1.2 but now it won't even install.

    my setup is as follows:

    .148 install base
    .132 radio
    v7.1.2 hybrid
I am not familiar with Yfan so I am going to take a stab in the dark Is there two different ways to download it? ie OTA or desktop, and have you tried both options?

I installed 7.1 tonight after performing a wipe for the first time and lost bbmessenger. I wiped and reinstalled, but this time I checked bbmessenger in the list that comes up when you first initiate the installation.... duh.

I guess I thought when I backed up the device and 3rd party apps in DM it would back up bbm too but no... so anyways, since I didn't select "tasks" from that list now I don't have tasks...lost all my bbm contacts too :banghead:

Is there an update 3 out?

You can plug your phone back into the pc and run app loader and select tasks and it will reinstall that onto your phone

There is a 7.1.3 out that fixes the suretype issue some users were having. If you don't use suretype or are not haveing any issues with it then there is no need.

Yeah I ran accross that in my searching to see if I can find out if there was an OTA for you

So it worked with V7 but not V7.1 correct? Can you try and wipe and reinstall and see if that works for you?

Holy eff that was fast! (as always!) I love this site.

So here's another question: why do people prefer to use .132 as a base?

Its a matter of preference. However, the base is pretty irrelevant because when you run the hybrid installer file it replaces most of the java files anyway. The .132 is more in terms of the radio. More people seem to like the 132 radio versus 148. Better reception, battery, etc. But as you know each phone acts differently so results will vary,.
