Thread: Help me with my blackberry storm!!!

O/S: v4.7.0.141 (platform 4.0.0.174)

ISSUES: lock/unlock software not working at all (downloaded an autolock app - but only seems to work when i'm in a program, doesn't lock on the mainscreen or in sleepmode etc etc)

facebook notifications don't work at all (checked the website and settings confirm that the box is checked to recieve them, e-mail working fine!)

blackberry ready-installed sounds and ringtones do not work at all, only the one's i have put on myself do.

the red light to say you have a message/email/missed call etc, started flashing at me randomly - but that has been rectified since with a battery pull.

I think they're my only problems - at the moment!

who is your carrier? and what country?

Have you checked to make sure your permissions
On all those apps. Been changed to allow.
You can do this by going to Options>advanced options>applications>
Click on app. Bb button> permissions.

absolutely everything is set to allow. some other peopleare suggesting facebook messes with the storm - should i delete this app, because it doesn't even work anyway. or is my operating sysem the issue. someone said the lock/unlock issue was a widespread problem with the o/s i am using.

Sorry, saw that in the OP, I will get you a link for lock fix on that OS.

Here you go, .141 does have an issue with the lock. If you follow the instructions in this link it will fix that issue up.

As far as deleting facebook, I use it all the time and there are no issues for me.

I want to say that 4.7.0.122 was a good solid stable build.. and have you logged into face book? i think you have to log in so that it will alert you.

lol yea os...just trying to think whcih would be best for him.. i thought .141 had a few problems

Personally I preferred .148 to .121, of course I would say go hybrid if your up for that.

First of all welcome to BlackberryOS

What locking app are you using that is not working? And Rellims provided you with a good link to fix the lock issue with .141 (and yes it is a widespread issue with that OS). Have you tried any other OS before on your phone? As far as facebook I have never used it so I am not to familiar with it. But what I would do is uninstall it and then reinstall it and see if that fixes the issue.

yes ive logged in - i know all that sorta stuff, im not a complete idiot, although i feel you all think i am. lol. i just have no clue on the bb stuff, dont want to download an o/s thats going to cause me more problems, at the moment im just on that link shanepark2 sent me to sort out the lock issue. so apologies if im slow on the replies.
