Thread: Holy Battery Drain, Batman! V7 issues

Ok I have installed BBCrackman's V7 and swapped to the .90 radio and am loving life.

Everything is working almost as it should except for a few quirks that I can not figure out. I did a complete wipe and restore. However, I have lost my Documents to Go and do not have the ability to listen to voice attachments like I used to. (I get copies of my office voice mails sent to me thru email the instant they are left).

Also my battery is leaking like crazy! My phone has been on since 8 am after a full night's charge and it is 11:21am and it is down to 36%

Please tell me I can fix these issues as in the last 24 hours since I have installed V7 over a wipe, I have no more freeze ups, constant EDGE, and fast broswer speed

LIL plug your phone back into your PC and open DM and click application loader. Once it brings up your list of apps scroll down to documents to go and make sure it is checked marked. Then click next and it will load it back on your phone

As for you battery let you battery drain till it shuts off the radio then give it a full charge, and see if that fixes your issue. Let us know

Something sounds wrong, I am assuming you are closing out of any app you may have open, what theme are you running first an animation theme on v7 seems to pull alot from the battery, how many apps do you have on the phone that you use and are you making sure they are closed. The problem I had with the 90 radio was it was constantly searching for a signal when i was inside (when it's weak and searching its using battery and a lot of it), Do you have a weather program set to update on a regular basis and is it set to your location or a set zip.

I had a battery issue like this with v5.1 and had to go back to v5 at the time. However v7 is working great for me. I guess the only thing I can suggest is to reinstall v7 and see if it clears up.

The interesting thing is when I load the app loader it only brings up the apps on my Storm, not in the OS I installed. I am confused!

Lilli what do you mean by "not in the OS installed"?

I can see it in the folder when I go thru c/programfiles/commonfiles/shared/RIM/loaderfiles. I can see my documents to go in there but when when I am connected to DM I only see the apps on my Storm.

Hello LiliBug,
So if you can see the Documents to Go application by going through your Loader.exe, this should suggest that there is a box that you are able insert a check mark into. If this is so. place a check mark inside the box by placing your cursor over the box and selecting. If you get the check mark the select the next tab in the lower right screen shot. Continue to select next until the Loader.exe finishes the installation. You should get the message that the Loader.exe is going to install the Documents to Go application onto your device. Once complete, verify that this is correct.

Hi Lil,
I had the same thing happen after an upgrade.tried for a couple days to reset the battery by letting it drain completly and recharging overnight but would be dead in about 6 hours with minimal use.And the OS was blazing fast.But the only way to correct it was to reload the software.:17:

Have you tried just double clicking app loader and trying to add them that way? Also, did you shrink your OS?
