YES.... I opened the file and dumped it into the .148 as instructed. then fire up loader and no files show up. I click "ADD" it just takes me to the .148 file with all .alx files and 2 folders CDMA and Java. I cant believe all these ploblems to get this v7

nO ... About screen says ver. 148 and platorm .181... All i want to do is get this v7 in.

i understand, what my main question was, have you tried to install over lets say 4.7.0.141 or .132 as the base OS instead of .148

Do you have just regular .148 installed as base on your PC? Ok...I am going to take a few minutes to type up a full step by step for ya...to see if you missed one may be. Also did you delete vendor.xml file?

.148 as base and deleted "vendor" file.

No... I deleted all OS's from my computer and started fresh with .148 as base. Which I had trouble doing. I finally get 148 back in with the DM. Now Im trying to get v7 in. I cant believe all this for v7. I am giving up. .148 just wont accept v7.

Don't give up on V7 and don't use DM

Download .148 Here and install on your PC

Download V7 from Here and install on your PC over .148
Delete vendor files and launch loader.exe (leave DM closed for this whole process)

Ok, jserr1.....here are the instructions:

1. Uninstall ALL OS from your PC
2. Restart PC
3. Download AND install .148 OS to PC
4. Download v7
5. Run hybrid.exe v7 installer
6. Delete vendor.xml file
**If you plan on shrinking, do it after step 6.
7. Back up your phone and 3rd party apps
8. Wipe phone with http://www.blackberryos.com/forums/3...nife-beta.html
9. Double click on loader.exe
10. Load only OS (no 3rd party apps yet)
11. Once install is done, do a battery pull
12. Load 3rd party apps (thru loader or DM) and restore phone thru DM
13. Do 3 60-second battery pulls once your phone is set up the way you want it....

Ok so look over and see if you missed any of these steps.

You run the possibility of the OS not installing. I have forgotten to at time to delete the vendor.xml file and it's worked fine other times it refused to load. So unless it is an official OS release by your carrier, as a rule of thumb it's always a good idea to delete that file.

I believe the proper order from what Bryan told me in step 12, is first restore backup of phone from DM, then 3rd party apps.

I have done it both ways....I don't think it makes a difference...

is it normal that im stuck on the last (wait for device initialization) the hour clock has been turning its been at least 5 mins.

Give it some time this has taken awhile to load for some people

Could be I haven't heard if Genesis is a good or bad theme with the .151 files yet? Try deleting Genesis and do your 3 60 second battery pulls and see if that makes a difference
