I hate to send you in this direction, but it does seem like you need to wipe your device, install a straight Os like .132 or .148 and see if you can get up and running. If you can, then go for the hybrid of your choice. It makes no sense that you can not access the email server at this time.
+1 on this. As usually Toy has some sage advice

I was really loving this Hybrid, but then noticed a few things, some have been mentioned all ready.
What I have tried since the release of V7:
    Installed over .148
    Wiped phone installed V7
Wiped phone, installed .75 then .148, then V7
Tried above with and without 3rd party apps using .148 as base.
Shrink-A-OS or any other modifications was not done at all.

*Can't control volume while movie is playing
*Picture load time is slow, some don't even show until highlighted
*keyboard seems more sensitive as far as how accurately you are "on the key"
*When on a call, caller sounded muffled
*On occasion, phone would not pick up when either hard or soft answer key pressed, had to press several times
*Mem leak was bad, would drop in the low 20s and dipping once and a while below 20, which I've never experienced before with any other OS be it Official, leaked or Hybrid. And this was with little phone and/or app use.
*Coming from tethering, over 50% of the time phone would not stay in 1XEV, it would either drop in 1xev or 1x and then couldn't make or receive calls, had to reset phone/battery pull to correct this.

NOTE: Making and receiving calls while tethered operated normally though.

The mem leak and tethering issues is the reason I tried all the different scenarios of installs.
As I heavily rely on tethering and in an on/off "mode" with it. So resetting phone so many times was really not acceptable at all for my situation.

So I ended up having to go back to .148 for the time being, and don't experience any of those issues.

Also I didn't use the .132 radio due to very quick battery drain and unstable/fluctuating signal.

I guess if anything, this shows even more how the hardware can differ so much between the same model phone.

I went to the site & it's not for gmail which I have. I tried again a few minutes ago and got the same "problem reaching the server". I'm getting an adequate signal & receiving emails.

I finally fixed it... found where I could re-send my service book & it now works [although I tried to re-find where the re-send option is, as 5 minutes had passed, I forgot where the hell it is! Maybe the "option" goes away once sent??

    Glad to hear it

    On your phone

Email settings>log in> hit bb button>re send service books

On your PC (if with Verizon)

Go Here>log in with your user name and password that you have used on your phone in email settings>click re send service books

OK I remember now, and the "whys" of all of this. email setup> which takes to existing account or to establish new. If you hit the current you need to inter user name & PW and you get zip and then find out you don't have a name or PW. YES!!!! instead, if you hit the BB button [not the email account] there is the "Send Service book". A name/PW was never established as it all went through the Service Book!

As promissed, I come back to post my experience with my problem. First I stayed with V7 and swapped the radio for the 132. Still problems so I decided to wipe my phone and come back to V6 that was working good for me before. I still had problems so I decided to call my carrier (Telus in Canada) and even before talking to someone there was a message saying that they had a problem with their data service. So I did all of that for a problem that was caused by Telus. I came back to V7 now and it's back to normal because they seem to have solved their problem.

Thanks Bryan for the help, it made me practice a lot. I don't have to read the step by step anymore when I wipe, install hybrid and load!!

    Pete
