Unfortunately the .141 radio did not work either. I still get the invalid sim error. It would have been ideal if i could use the .78's radio with the hybrid but that gives me an app error 523
Will it be of any help if I wipe the device with jl-cmdr?
well you can try the wipe thing, but im not sure, do the wipe, reload the os with the sim in your phone, but try the straight before the hybrid...

RetiredAdministrator--I never try anything, I just do it.....Wanna try me?--
It is connected to the right network i.e. Vodafone Malta and the network mode is set 3G&2G. I then have the option to choose 3G only or 2G only. None of the latter 2 work either.
I just finished trying the .141 radio with the .78 OS and still get the invalid SIM error so the issue is definitely related to the radio rom I use.
did you use Shrink-A-OS at all
if so did you select the removal of Sim Card Capablities?
if not, I would attempt a reinstall of the OS, if you haven't already done so
other than that, I'm not sure what the issue could be, potentially a 5.0 file? but I haven't heard of this issue from any other 9500 users yet
let us know if any of the above works or if more help is required![]()

ktaliana I`m sure this problem has somethimg to do with the sim card .COD being removed by either Shrink Os or Storm Shrink. I would install .141 to a wiped phone, and then copy and paste Lyricidal hybrid java files into the java folder of the operating system. Use loader to install and update. Perhaps you may have a corrupt .141 OS , if the sim works for .78 it must work for later Os. Another consideration is that you have inadvertantly used a 9530 Os or hybrid, be wary of this.

Thanks for your reply. No I did not use Shrink-A-OS and I have reinstalled the OS from scratch quite a few times. To make sure that the problem is related to the radio file I use I also tried installing a fresh copy of the .78 OS and replace just the radio file with the one I got from the .141 official vodafone and still got the invalid sim error. So using everything from .78 (without shrinking or anything) except the radio will still give me the invalid sim error.
654321ROD, do you know what the sim card .cod files are maybe I try keeping the files from the .78 OS and use them with .141?

Since you have already tried a lot of ways... you can try this out too:
- Perform a full Backup...
- Wipe the phone... it is very easy....You can use this program: http://www.blackberryos.com/forums/3...nife-beta.html
- Install the leaked 4.7.0.151 OS
- Copy Shrink-A-OS
(unzip the RAR file and put the EXE into your current OS folder (most probably: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Shared\Loader Files\9500-v4.7.0.151_P4.0.0.186)
- Use Shrink-A-OS to shrink your OS also check/tick the SIM capabilities option
- Go to the APPLOADER folder (C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader)
- Make sure there are no files named Vendor.xml
- Use the Loader.exe to load the OS to your phone
- After the OS gets installed succsessfully to your phone... do 3 60 sec battery pulls
- Restore the backed up data
Now your phone should work well... without issues...
Please let me know what happens.

Thanks for your tips gabriel, however this still gave me the invalid sim error. Just to be sure I followed the right procedure, should I wait for the phone to boot before I do the first battery pull and in between the remaining two battery pulls? Or does it not make any difference?
Thanks olta777, that's exactly what I did so I still have the same problemI am now going to try using the .141 OS with some other older radios. The only problem is that Storm Shrink is not downloading the OMADRM version of the radio even though I have 9500 selected. It always downloads rim0x04001404.sfi instead of rim0x06001404OMADRM.sfi. Renaming the radio file does not work. The loader will not recognise the file and will not offer it as an upgrade/downgrade.
