Also, note in the original post, it was referring to a 4.6.x version of the OS, not the Storm-specific 4.7.x version. The last 3 numbers are patch/bugfix revision numbers and are incremented every time a release (be it beta or official) is made ... the 4 is the major revision and the 7 or 6 is the minor revision ... so 4.6.152 and 4.7.152 are completely unrelated and just happen to have the last 3 numbers in common ... hope that helps
Screw .152 can't wait for V7!!!
I have to agree with you guys too
the term "official" has become officially useless...each carrier has their own requirements and terms to be met within their testing, so to be called official can only be held to the standard that the carrier holds. the term "carrier supported" is more fitting, and RIM doesn't use alpha/beta/etc...when the code is compiled and titled, it doesn't change after that point. so an OS can be either not supported, either in testing or not, or it can be carrier supported.
just wanna clarify that part.
Thanks for clarification Patches. Good to know.
My personal perspective re "official" has been that it is released by a specific carrier and available for downloading from same. Thanks all for the insight regarding the numbering. That was really my question and I appreciate the answers provided. Looking forward to more leaks...regardless of the number!
well there was some guy who said that .122 was better than .132 or .141 purely b/c bell released it as an "official"...he went on about he didn't run leaked or beta S/W b/c they're nothing but problems, started talking about windows 7, etc...
so i officially put my foot down on the term "official". it doesn't mean anything unless every carrier agreed on one OS build.
I'll run whatever works the best on my device...be it a leaked OS, a released OS, one of my own hybrid creations or someone elses; version numbers or origin mean absolutely nothing to me...
My Storm has worked brilliantly on a few of them and horribly on others.
So when is v7 comin out for us vip members???
If you don't have a Blackberry than your Last!!!
PATCHES is the Man!
I'm curious too uttahere:
Patches is super funny, I am glad that he is now part of BB OS....
Ok I think we should stop holding back on the .152 now....is it time yet?...oh dam not yet :23:
