Thread: .148 Radio question

I have .148v6 loaded on my phone. I always have 1XEV signal. When I tether to my laptop via bluetooth, when I disconnect, it changes to 1xev. I have to reboot the phone or turn off the mobile network connection and turn it back on to go back to 1XEV. Does anyone else experience this on .148? It also did it on straight .148. Also, what do the signals mean 1XEV 1xev 1x? When on 1xev, I don't get email and cant use the browser until I turn the connection off and back on. Thanks in advance and sorry for the long post.

hey chris,

The tethering is a complete unknown to me but this might help...I hope..

from your berry options > mobile network > network technology - make sure it's set to 1XEV not global

smcoldbb, thanks for the suggestion. It wasn't set to 1XEV, so I changed it, but it didn't seem to fix it. Any other ideas?

Chris unfortunately I've had the same problem too. The only way I have be able to correct it is by turning off the radio and turning it back on. I have not found another work around for this.

I have pretty much used every radio including .132 and all had the same issue. But as you know each Storm is different so results will vary.

Apparently a configuration bug between your bluetooth and phone. When you kill the bluetooth connection, you have to reset your phone to get the data connection back. There are several docummented bluetooth issues that remain unresolved in the 148 update. I'm sure this one will not be the last.
