Thread: Question about .109 and BB button

I am running .109 on my Verizon Wireless Storm. One thing that is causing me problems is that when I press the BB button on apps that should pull up the menu, it doesn't pull up the menu, and more often than not pulls up the "Switch applications" menu. BUT, if I keep pressing the BB button it sometimes will pull up the menu where I can select "Options".

Anyone else seeing this? Anyone else have any resolutions for this?

What OS are you coming from? Ever since .103 I think, the hold time on the BB button is alot shorter. You used to have to hold it in for a good second or so for the switcher but now you have to make sure you're actually tapping it quickly to bring up the menu for options.

check your settings in options/keyboard

keyrate should be normal or around that...experiment with the settings

I upgraded from the stock .75 straight to .109.

Also, for kicks I tried to tap the BB button quickly, and it seems to open up the menu with Options on it. I think that was my problem, in that I was holding down the button too long. I guess I was used to how it was done in .75. - THANKS because I think you got me straightened out with that issue ;-)

Also, did you ever run .109? I ask because I see you are running .113/.114. I didn't up my phone to that version as I saw posts on +/- of each and it seemed that .109 might be just a little bit more stable. What's your take on it?

I am a newbie to all of this upgrade stuff, and this was my first upgrade ever!! lol....

I did change the rate to "Fast" and switched it back to normal. Thanks for that suggestion as well.

Also, like James_B indicated, I did press the BB button for just a split second and it pulled up the menu with "Options" listed on it. Both ideas put in right in on the fix.
