Makes me wonder if we are apt to wiping because we're so used to the fact that when reinstalling a Windows OS, wiping is the really the only thing that truly works (Damn U Redmond) At least that's what makes me want to wipe my BB before upgrading. Never leave anything to chance.

I think I am going to try Crackutil. Never had an issue with JL but seem more like Crackutil is a more complete wipe. I will give it a shot, Thanks.

This. And yes, loader does wipe the phone when it does an install. Should really only need a wipe if you're trying to re-install the same OS on a phone again.

I am wondering if I should try a wipe for my phone problem? How does one go about doing that and what happens with all the apps, games and music I have put on my Storm? Is it a difficult process?

If you're speaking of the headset issue you have with .122 installed on a new phone provided to you by Mannitoba Tel Service, I would recommend returning the device and insisting on a new one. From previous discussions, it sounds like you have a defective headphone jack in your device. And they should be able to copy everything you've added to your phone; contacts, media etc. to your new device.

It's not difficult at all Tamara :) As long as you back up your phone through DM and your 3rd party apps it is a pretty painless process

You of course back up your phone through DM's backup options

Then back up your 3rd party apps following this

OK used Crackutil for the first time (usually use JL) and I don't like it LOL. I had to wipe it 3 times to get it to work, and each time the theme skinned clock was there. I ended up having to choose wipe applications first then wipe device very strange?

That's the exact reason I use JL. It's simple, easy and effective. It's a no frills application but it does the job every time.

Hmm I feel like I need to add something since this was my first time wiping with Crackutil....I just booted up with 49mb that is the highest I have ever booted up, and yes this is after all my apps and full restore.

That's great Tamara and no you shouldn't have any issues. Just make sure you do a DM back up and 3rd party app back up before you take it in. Just in case :)
