Thread: Trouble installing bbcman v5.1-132

only version showing in rim-shared-loader is v5.1-132 but doesnt load.
tried to load from apploader-loader but doesnt seem to recognized it. I also tried through device manager and chose downgrade and now Im running vzw .075. I also used crackmemv3. altough im running vzw .075 this does not show up in rim folder and no vendor file. any suggestions?

On your PC go into control panel then add/remove programs. How many device softwares are showing up?

Also remember to disconnect from the internet before your upgrade.

I had 3. before I read this I uninstalled 2 of them still no luck. What next?

Which OS do you know have installed? Anyway just make sure that it is not .114 or .122 any other OS will be fine. Did you download V5.1 yet?

I downloaded and installed bbcrackman v5.1-132. my phone is os .075 and dm 4.7. is this the correct DM? v.132 is the only one showing in shared files.

So if you have installed V5.1-132 over straight 132 I would suggest using Loader.exe not DM. To find this go to the following on your PC:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader

First thing you want to do in the folder listed above is delete the file vendor.xml.
Then find the file called Loader.exe (it looks like a phone). Double click it and follow the prompts.

Before you install make sure of course to do a complete backup including 3rd party apps.

did this and get message update successful but phone still shows .075. when I started I was running .141 downloaded v5.1 and installed. removed .141 from shared file so only v5.1-132 showed ran dm and clicked downgrade and ended up with .075. checked vendor file-nothing to delete. uninstalled 2 extra dm programs. just tried using loader.exe message update successful phone still shows .075- I think thats everything.

You need to install .132 OS first (just straight OS),
then install the v5.1 hybrid over .132. I have had where someone didn't know they needed a base OS. Double check that, and also make sure you delete the vendor.xml file.

do you have link for 132 straight? so i should delete v5.1-132 from rim file-- download and install 132 straight and load it on my phone. next, download and install hybrid v5.1 and repeat the process?

Ok do the following:
1. Back up your phone and your 3rd party apps
2. Uninstall all OS from PC (control panel>add/remove programs)
3. Download AND install .132 (Get link from here: http://www.blackberryos.com/forums/9...-software.html)
4. Download the hybrid that you want (v5.1)
5. Run the hybrid installer
6. Delete vendor.xml file
7. Double click app loader, follow prompts, and wait for the process to be done. DO NOT unplug the phone until app loader says "Device software updated successfully."
8. Perform a battery pull
9. Set everything up and enjoy the phone.

**You do not need to wipe with JL. Just follow these steps and go to the hybrid from .75. Let us know if you have more questions.

perfect Thanks!!! The whole problem was I thought the hybrid was a full OS. Last thing, when I look in the loader folder I see 2 seperate folders .132 and hybrid .132. Is this right? How could I tell if my phone is running the hybrid? Thanks again.

Yeah, I have seen people misunderstand that step. When you run the hybrid installer, (bb has instructions with pictures), it should replace the necessary files in .132 with the hybrid files. Anyways, let us know the outcome. Also go to the options>about screen and see what OS you got after the install.
