do i need to wipe my os if im installing a new os?and if so how do i do it

You don't need to wipe with JL, unless you are having problems updating. The loader does it.

It's by no means a requirement. It's more a preference than anything else. As a rule of thumb I always do but it's certainly not a requirement.

I usually just install over my previous OS, always works...and listen to olta, shes the man!....wait....

It's not set it stone as to do it, but I would say do it every couple times you install a new OS. I do every once in a while, when I can stand not having my berry for a while.
